I'm new at this whole converting thing, so I thought I'd ask you guys at the wonderful Dakka-Dakka community for some advice, critique, and ideas on this (soon to be set of) looted Sentinel / Killa Kan.
All constructive comments are more than welcome and I would love to hear what you guys think about it (them?).
Note: I got abit ahead of myself and started building the thing before I had a base to glue it to or magnets to attach the arm. (For some reason I want the Close Combat Weapon magnetized. )

The scrap placed over the side windows and the improvised engine block covering the door were part of a welded-in vibe I though I'd try. I think it feels a bit more beefy than a normal Sentinel chassis, which is great for orkz. The pipes I glued to the back make it feel good to me, like this thing was mostly re-engineered to throw out more smoke and sound rather than be a weapon.

The three-jointed legs of a sentinel feel much too agile and, I felt, would have made the model too tall. I knocked out the middle segment with some peg joins to give a more clunky feel, and as silver lining of my poor leg placement, I gave the legs a more dynamic feel either stepping on a wheel/rock/something, and/or swinging about wildly as the grot tries to control the kan.

The close-combat weapon just started off as I looked through a new box of bits and saw the Sentinel chainsaw models and the (I think) Chaos claw thingy. A bunch of digging through other bits and some brainstorming, I came up with something I think looks both pretty intimidating and a bit over-sized for the chassis (not sure if that's good yet). To boot, it just kinda feels Orky and looks right. (I'm going to likely end up mounting this on the front-left of the chassis, the featureless part in the picture.)

Please tell me what you guys think. Any advise and critiquing on my technique would be more than welcome. I want to be told what I'm doing "wrong" or "right" before I get too far in these.

Looks pretty good to me. Just needs a few rivets or bolts to hold it all together and add some visual interest.

I presume you'll be magnetising the shooty weapon too?

Of course. I was planning, once I got some magnets, to make some sets of all the various kinds of weaponry that would (hopefully) fit on each one of the looted Sentinels I'm working/planning on.

Which reminds me: Does anyone happen to know a good size magnet that would be good for attaching Dred/Kan weapons, small turrets, and other vehicle options?

Some updates:
Glued the torso to the legs and magnetized the torso and claw. Though, I am now having difficulty with the claw not shifting if the model is moved. I just kinda assume I made the claw too heavy. Is there something I can stick between the claw and model to give it abit more of a grip?

Also started on some weaponry for the kans. The start of a Kustom Mega Blasta and a Rokkit Launcha. I definitely like their shapes and profiles, but I don't really know what to do to the rokkit launcha. I'm thinking of maybe adding a box or something to the back, possibly a blast shield. Any ideas would be wonderful!
