Hello,
I have been playing Chaos for a few months now and am only having trouble beating Blood Angels.
So Iwas wondering if there are any tricks or just tips to tipping the balance into my favor when versing BA.
I can use anything except either of the fiends. Any advice is welcome

honestly I'm not sure how you lost. You should have pounded him with with the Salvo shots. Wrapped them w/ cultists to protect your shooting.

Oblits can make short work of Meph, 2+ save is good and all but he has the same problems he had last edition.

If he trades out codex powers for Bio or anything that's fine too. Now he's slow.

Um,
I know it had alot of assault marines 3 squads of 10. Mephiston and Sagunary Gaurd. And I am pretty sure it had a land raider with 5 hammernaters and another HQ that i dont remember the name of.

You may be suffering a bit from being out in the open, especially if he's using Baal predators. Getting a rhino or two may help you protect your troops and get in position for good shooting...or away from enemy assault.

I've only faced Meph once and it was a bit of a letdown. The moment he got close I made sure to have 2 oblits nearby to pelt him with rapid-fire plasma, then finished him with a Land Raider lascannon.

Dante is annoying mostly due to his curse on your HQ and his 2+ save. But if he arrives via Deep Strike, he is at a BIG disadvantage because they arrive all bunched up. One good shot with the vindicator or oblit paslma cannons and you can wipe most of the unit.

Also, I don't mean to fiddle with your army but Mutilators are very...odd. They are slow on the board, meaning it takes them a while to get to a good target, and vulnerable to lascannons and meltas insta-killing them. Even in CC, they don't have that many attacks. I'd suggest either getting some 4-6 bikes with meltaguns (very cheap and efficient in this book) to give your army better menuver, or more obliterators to help you crack transports and melt enemies.

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.

In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos.

ok, heres my humble advice;

your opponent will probably deep strike the 10/20 assault marines, dante and the sanguinary guardians, he will charge everything forward and try to tie up all of your shooty units so his reserves can come down and stuff crap up.
I advise you keep all of your sound marines together to tear apart his assault marines with some judas priest and keep the cultists with them to repel any assaults, that will tie up the first wave and keep the sound marines shooty for the game,
keep the vindicator, obliterators and the mutilators together to try and tackle the land raider and termies. (i would suggest giving the mutilators lightning claws if they can take them),
deep strike the talons so they can raid any weakly held objectives or just hold the tie-breaking objective.

so turn one;
he/she would of charged the assault marines forward and driven the raider at combat speed. tear apart the assault marines with the sound marines and charge the cultists, ALL OF THEM, then use the obliterators to melta/lascannon their way through the raiders front armour and demolisher cannon the survivors.
there will be a few assault marines alive, locked in combat with the swarms of cultists and some termies left completely open and weakened by an exploding tank and a demolisher shell.

turn two; odds are that most/all of the reserves would have come in so, basically repeat turn one but charge the mutilators (and talons if they're on) at the termies, fire las or plasma at mephiston as he has no invol so ap 2 will instant wound him, so just 5 ap 2 wounds is all it takes to kill him.
the sanguinary guardians wont like plasma very much, and i advise you that you just focus the sound marines on the assault marine reinforcements and the vindicator/mutilators in the termies.
most of your enemy units will be dead, or severely weakened, dont expect any surviving cultists though...

Frankly, CSM should be able to beat the BA living asses now. You probably just need some more experience with your army and the BA in general. The BA literally have almost no advantages over the new CSM book. You can run enough init 5 to make them look slowed in HTH.

I like the blastmasters with the noisemarines - though I noticed you did not specify whether the noisemarines have sonic blasters or not.

My recommendation is ally with daemons and take the Masque. Her pavane can target up to 3 different units and bunch them up for your blastmasters to make short work of. They will insta-kill the BA and ignore their FNP.

As for Mephiston, drop the mutilators for more obliterators, or along with the Masque take a bunch of daemonettes. Their rending will take care of him.
