this is a hypothetical list, but in terms of firepower I think it could work very well against hoardes and even mech...

That's a lot of shots that can mess up vehicles (quake) and infantry!

What do you think?

Its a lot of shooting for sure, but a single Land Raider full of terminators could cause you all sorts of problems if he doesn't play into your MOTF conversion beamer's range, and you can't take a charge

Against hordes though aye, you will mince them

well against a land raider let's see. could torrent it with Quake shots......cause multiple dangerous terrain tests which could immobilise the land raider and then the terminators have to get out. they'd have to brave a lot of fire...

Nice and fun list!!
It would be awesome to play with..

When those termies charge you, feed them some scouts and pull back from combat to shoot them again!

Keep in mind that the Autocannons fire 48" away, not 36'' (even better )

Any objective games you wouldnt fare well, against flyers your only defence it spamming autocannon shots at them and quad gun shots, while that may well take a flyer or two down a turn it means the rest of his army should be ok. It is a lot of dakka but nothing that speical.

Plus have you got 6 thunderfire cannons!?

ADL plus quad gun is 85 points. ADL is 50 points, quad gun is 35 points.

and yes I know objective games would be interesting......but could always keep the scouts in reserve....

and this is a HYPOTHETICAL LIST LOL

Instead of TLACs on the dread, you might want to use some MLs and TLLCs. Or use the icarus LC instead of the quad gun. This will give you some shots better then S7.

While "More Dakka!" is always the answer, sometimes you do need to look into quality, as well as quantity.

Looks weak against heavily armored units such as land raiders, but other than that great.

Perhaps figure out a way to get some melta in there?

Perhaps if you dropped the conversion beamers (will be hard to get the st 10 hit with them), you could have some extra points for some las or possibly some melta to pop raiders. In addition, that would give the techmarines their servo harness so they could chill behind the dreads and fix them up if needed.

One option you may consider is dropping a thunderfire cannon or two and changing some of your scouts over to shotguns or bp/ccw with a sergeant with a combi-melta. Then add land speeder storms with multi-melta and you got a quick strike and a speed bump for those land raiders full of hammer termies.

It may not be the most optimal solution but it is a pretty easy swap for your list and there is a pretty good chance you will at least get to shoot once.

Aegis & Quad is definitely 100pts

Also your list is 2090 pts total, so you are way over the 2000pt limit.

Sorry can't disclose.....infiltrating

I'm not a fan of conversion beamer techmarines, or techies in general, like to keep the vanilla sm hqs either cheap, or a SC.

rifleman dreads are decent, sounds like you might rather just play greyknights with that many though, and just ally things like thunderfire cannons.

20 scouts is dangerously low amount of troops at 2k, any high volume shooting army will probably wipe them out first turn.

No sternguard in a sm shooting list? I am Dissapoint....Kantor is also a decent shooter, 4 shot ap4 stormbolter is always nice.

Tbh though I don't think you will contain a horde army with this list, no templates, no mass bolters, its really just a bunch of autocannons on shakable platforms, I think an ork shooty list or tyranid horde/ shooty big bugs will handle this list, once those dreads fall you lose almost your entire fire base

This list seems better suited to taking on mech, having superior anti transport capability, but sub optimal horde and elite management, especially in double force org.

i think you need to make the list more flexible. as mentioned above, the list has quite a few weaknesses even though it is focussing on shooting.

things that give you trouble:
1) anything containing a landraider or similar AV 14 - you cant really pop them
2) 2+ armour save assault units - very tough for you to kill enough of them before they get in close.
3) assault units like wraiths or similar jump/bike/cavalry/beasts capable of getting into combat before they suffer too many wounds. - same as above
4) monstrous creatures with good saves. - although you can focus fire and put some wounds on, they will be constantly taking their good save.
5) any battle with objectives vs someone with tough troops choices. - self evident i think. if something like nurgle plague marines or a necron warrior blob takes an objective it will take you forever to remove them.
6) mass horde spam lists with any sort of mobile cover save, or just very large numbers. - as covered by others, you have a lot of str 7 shots, but no templates.
7) flier spam lists - you have a lot of TL autocannons, but at 2000 points double FOC they will have a LOT of fliers, and will definitely focus fire your dreads down.

so in short, just about every army will have at least 1 element that you dont have a tool to counter properly.

So, the guy wipes out the 20 scouts and hides on objectives for the next 3-4 turns.

AV14 and Flyers are going to ruin your day. Leman Russes, Land Raiders (redeemers specifically).

Rhinos and Chimeras will be your bitch though. Other non-Ironclad Dreadnoughts too.

I mean, losing my Rhinos turn 1 would suck, but Dreadnoughts aren't that hard to pop, and the Conversion Beamers are going to be stationary all game, since they aren't on a bike.

Also, your list is 90 points over, and therefore illegal.

(240+750+400+600+100 = 2090)

Which means no Aegis line to hide your dreads behind.

Also, Hordes aren't going to be much of a problem for him, since he has 18 S5 AP6 ignores cover templates with the Thunderfires. He'll laugh at any big mek Horde Army. He'll force Guard Hordes to take the hits on their 5+ Armor Save.

The main problem is going to be AV13 (Vindicators, Predators, Necrons), AV 14 (Land Raiders, Monoliths, Leman Russes), and fast assault troops that can tie up those Dreadnoughts, since they aren't scary in the least with 2 S6 attacks that are AP-.

For the AV 13, he'll get 24 hits on average (9 misses, and then 6 of those get rerolled into hits when he rerolls the ACs), and 1/6 of those will glance. 4? Glances, and that's assuming they don't have cover. In which case, 1 - 2 will be negated. One wreck if it's a Predator/Vindicator, potentially.

The Conversion beamers might be good for dealing with a stationary predator, but Vindicators/Land Raiders/Necrons will probably be coming towards you, and you won't get the High STR hits.

Honestly, if I was going to spam any one weapon in a C:SM army, it'd probably be Missile Launchers. 150pts per 4 ML Devastators, 270 for 6 shots from Landspeeders (+ Heavy Bolters!)

He has enough fire to focus down any silly things like Trygons or Hive Tyrants.

Here's a Missile Spam List I came up on the spot. It's 1980pts:

Spoiler:

HQ - 2 units
Librarian - Null Zone, The Avenger
Librarian - Force Dome, Vortex of Doom

Troops - 4 units

Scout Squad: 4x Snipers, 1x Missile
Scout Squad: 4x Snipers, 1x Missile
Scout Squad: 4x Snipers, 1x Missile
Scout Squad: 4x Snipers, 1x Missile

Fast Attack - 2 units

Landspeeder Squad: 3x Typhoon Missile Launcher, 3x Heavy Bolter.

Landspeeder Squad: 3x Typhoon Missile Launcher, 3x Heavy Bolter.

Heavy Support - 6 units

Devastator Squad: 4x Missile Launcher
Devastator Squad: 4x Missile Launcher
Devastator Squad: 4x Missile Launcher
Devastator Squad: 4x Missile Launcher
Devastator Squad: 4x Missile Launcher
Devastator Squad: 4x Missile Launcher

Total - 1980pts.

The above list has:

40 Missile Shots (48" Range)
16 Sniper Shots (36" Range)
12 Heavy Bolter Shots (36" Range)

Total of 68 Shots.

Librarians can also take Pyromancy, maybe get 2 more of the blast template ones.

Scouts might not have cloaks, but 40 Missiles are going to ruin Hordes or AV 13 (and even a Land Raider or two >.&gt

The Issue i see here , your trying to play a Guard Gunline , us Guard we are cheap -- unlike Space Marines which are not cheap , Drop the Scouts - sniper rifles are nice but pointless in the long run , if you want ALOT of scary firepower go with plasma guns , Plasma Cannons , and i guess you can keep the thunderfire cannons but when you add in a bunch of plasma you retain that template strength and shots but you also threaten terminators and light armor -
