Don't currently have the BRB on me, but if I remember correctly characters are unable to join Warmachines...

But I've noticed people putting Crone Hellbron(Dark Elves) in with the Cauldron of Blood, and the FAQs state that she replaced the Death Hag if she accomponies it.. And I see nothing in her entry/CoB stating she can join it
And the Cauldron is listed as a War Machine..

Its unit type is war machine, but she can take one as a 'mount', same as a hag...
But there are some instances where characters can join wwarmachines. Dwarves, old edition empire engineers... new engineers dont though, so are safe from misfires.
