I think I've finally got in the right mind set for 6th edition with my current project, having dropped my hopes of building Ravenwing I'm currently converting my DV bikes into bitchin' Chaosmobiles.

Something is really odd about the Codex point totals... every list I've put in the incubator comes out 100-150 points short. It doesn't matter if I'm thinking 1750, or 1500, it always ends with the same point shortage. Any suggestion on quality point filler?

To hit 1500, just add another Pred and give your first Marine Champ a PW. For 1750, I just whipped this up for fluffiness: Sorcerer, Lvl 2,MoS - 100 points
Noise Marines, + 4 Marines, IoE, Champ with PW+Doom Siren+ Plasma Pistol(since he is the only Champ we get that doesn't come with a CCW standard), 7 Sonic Blasters, 1 Blastmaster - 289 points
16 points leftover to buy a PW for your one champ that doesn't have one or buy Melta Bombs for three people. Just some ideas.

The reason behind the manly naked Plasma squad Champ is to protect the Icon using "Look Out, Sir."

Indeed, I put my Icons on my Champs as well for that same purpose. You're still going to want a PW on him since if he gets into Assault he has to issue a challenge. I5 with a power sword does wonders to wreck the majority of unit sergeants in 40k.

One thing I notice is you could spend some points on CCW's for your flamer squads. I notice with the dirge casters and MoS w/o the Icon, you seem to intend upon assaulting with them.

My bad, I forgot to specify that I was switching Boltguns for CCWs on the Flamer squads.
