Now, this is literally my first look at the BA codex. (aside from when I've played against them of course), so I'm not sure what's optimal, especially in the 6th edition climate.

I built this army around what I know from playing SM. Unlike my SM army, this will make use of fast moving units and will probably focus on bringing the fight to the enemy.

I like this list. It ticks a lot of important boxes.

When making it, I thought about these things:
- It must have enough troops to hold objectives comfortably.
- It must have something to combat flyers and gain aerial superiority.
- It must have something to damage enemy armour.
- Since it is BA, I will want to build it around an army where everything is moving and firing each turn.

Uh, I don't really know what else to say. It's absolute cheese. (I think so.)

I think at 2K, two gunships are plenty. I feel like this list really lacks firepower until the reserves show up. I have both broken armies and been broken before reserves became a huge issue. A couple of bad reserve rolls and you will find yourself hopelessly outgunned on turn 2.

Minimally, the razors need to be las/plas to get as many quality shots as possible.

You will probably want more than one sanguinary priest.

Foot slogger assault terminators are called "target practice".

I feel like for BA, attack bikes are the better choice over land speeders. Multimeltas are a very important weapon for the BA, and attack bikes take a *lot* more fire to bring down than land speeders, especially with FNP.

Lack of armor saturation. Your best non-flyer AV is 11. A good shooting list will cripple your mobility by turn 2. Especially since the heavy bolter razors can be safely ignored by most lists. This means your 2K opponent is free to unload on the two lascannon razors and land speeders with everything, no decision making is necessary.

I'm not taking footslogger assault terminators, they're going in a raven, bud. (that's a bit of a risky choice, I know. but as you've already said, anything that can comfortably take out those ravens already has me killed.)

What would you suggest in terms of armour? I'm used to running a SM predator list and I really don't want to just take 3 H/S predators. I'd consider Baal predators, but they seem like they're on the edge of too expensive.

I guess I could just run a LR for the Terminators, but once again, running that would be like my old 2kSM list and would defeat the purpose to an extent of this list.

and why would I want more than one sanguinary priest? Am I meant to pair them off as sergeants for the assault marines?

You want more than one sanguinary priest so you can supply FNP once your army starts moving around as the game progresses. Also, sanguinary priests can get killed and it's good to have a backup at 2K.

BA have three basic AV 13 choices: pred, Baal pred, vindicator. For us, they are all fast and all perform different functions. I use all three very often. Maybe for this list, upgrading to las/plas will cut it. I'm not sure.

Most 2K lists are hard pressed to take out three storm ravens. That's not the issue. The issue is that the assault terminators can't possibly assault anything until turn 3, and that makes that particular storm raven a huge, huge target.

Personally, for BA, I'm liking a terminator tactical squad with a terminator sanguinary priest. Reserve them and bring them in with a teleport homer. Against many weapons, you will get two 5++ saves, which is pretty good. And they can still squish monstrous creatures and such. And shoot. There's nothing more fun than bringing in your terminators with precision and then dumping heavy flamer death on some scoring unit with 4+ armor in cover.
