I have 2 wartrakks, but I also already have 6 deffcoptas and 20+ (converting more) stormboyz in my ork army and wonder if wartrakks are worth it.
Also to mention is that I can quite easily convert them into skorchas since I still have some leftovers from the deff dread bitz.

So should I keep my wartrakks, turn them into skorchas or should I bitz the lot? Discuss if you may.

If you already own the wartrakks I would say to build them. I would make one or maybe both of them into Skorchas because up close they do a fair bit of damage to weakly armoured infantry. It probably depends on who you are versing.

I have found that the best way to utilize a Warbuggy squadron in a Fast Attak FOC is to take them with Twin-Linked Rokkits for 35 points. The Big Shootas are nice, but what the Orks need is the S8 and 56% chance to hit. That being said, any upgrades increase the cost of this fragile one shot vehicle.

About Skorchas: the cost for one Twin Linked S5 AP4 Template with 7" range over S8 at 24" range, you gain a rather large foot print with the Burna Trailer. Also, I left my Rule Book in my car, but after trying to finagle a Burna Wagon, I think that Vehicles, even Fast Vehicles, cannot fire Template weapons after moving Cruising Speed, so they are further reduced to 6-7" movement and 7" range, not very efficient.

I use 2 units of 3 buggies with rokkits. It keeps them cheap and deadly, and add to the total amount of vehicles on the table. They can redeploy really fast (12" in the movement phase, 12" flat out), so you'll likely be shooting on back armour or side armour. Also, they can shoot their weapons at full BS after moving 12" so skorchas have an effective range of 12" + template, which can work pretty good.
