Hi.

I recently went to a LAN party with the explicit intention of talking my friend's boyfriend out of getting into 40k.

In one of the most miserable failures of all time, I am now working on a 500pt army of Orks.

Current plan is:
29 slugga boyz + 1 nob w/ power klaw & 'eavy armor
24 slugga boyz + 1 nob w/ power klaw & 'eavy armor
big mek w/ kustom force field & 'eavy armor

Once I've got that painted I'll be starting to play, then building on it.

Figs I've picked up in the past week:
62 slugga boyz (AoBR)
5 big shoota boyz (AoBR)
16 nobz (all from AoBR, so I've also picked up 4 power klaw bits)
2 AoBR warbosses
1 Big Mek w/ Kustom Force Field
3 AoBR deff koptas
1 dakkajet kit

So far I've super-fail primed 25 of the boyz (waaay too cold; didn't know what primer was supposed to look like...it turned out more like a wash of white paint), done a somewhat poor job of stripping those 25 boyz, and properly primed 17 more. Once the brand new space heater finishes warming the garage up to ~60F I'll be repriming 18 of the messed up boyz. I'm considering cutting out and gluing parts of the dakkajet later today, though I may wait a while with that, since I won't be using it for a bit, and it fits on the shelves better in a box. (=c(

I'm leaving the nobz and mek to last. Hopefully I'll pick up some practice painting the boyz.

Hi and welcome.

I did the same thing when I bought DV, started on the cultist and dark angels so by the time I got to the important characters my painting was a little better.

Post pics when you get your stuff painted!

Hi,
