I was thinking of doing a rather 'dark' Imperial Guard army, and came across(by chance) the Renegades and Heretics army list from Forgeworld, and what i was wondering was, are there any other gamers that are using this list, and if so, what are they doing with it? ie, modeling and gaming wise...

I know a guy who runs the nurgle variant as a hybrid list with foot blobs assorted heavy armor and blight drones, or pure footguard. Model wise it's mostly gs and catachans and nurgly tanks.

I like the minefields and artillery strikes(very cheap options money wise), and was thinking of using lots of Dark Vengeance Chaos Cultists as Workers Rabble(lots of defensive fire shots), plus as many mortars as I can fit in(this is going to be a shooty army)...

You could certainly do that, as minefields are perhaps one of the lists biggest advantages, cultists are fine workers rabble,
