Hello All, I've come up with the following list as a variant of my normal. The main change is dropping fanatics which I've found to be too random in favour of a warboss with a wizarding hat (even more random!)
Lords
Lvl 4 Orc Shaman, Earthing Rod, Talisman of Preservation
Lvl 4 NG Great Shaman, Dispel Scroll
NG Warboss, Wizarding Hat
Heroes
NG Big Boss, BSB, Standard of Disc
Core
50 NG w/ HW+S, Muso+Standard, Nets
50 NG w/ HW+S, Muso+Standard, Nets
50 NG w/ HW+S, Muso+Standard, Nets
20 NG w/ Shortbows
5 Goblin Wolf-riders
Special
8 Trolls
Goblin Wolf Chariot
Goblin Wolf Chariot
Goblin Wolf Chariot
Rare
Doom Diver
Doom Diver
Rock Lobba
Rock Lobba
Mangler
Mangler
Snotling Pump Wagon ( Str 5 + ignore armour saves)
The idea of the army is maximum options. The large amount of chaff and warmachines mean I can dominate deployment and gain the board position I want. I have a large toolbox in the magic phase with access to the big waagh, little waagh and a random BRB lore. I won't have enough dice to cast everything, but I should always have the right spell for the job. The gobbos act as the usual tarpits to allow my remaining chaff and trolls to combo charge enemy blocks.
Thoughts?

An interesting idea.
Presumably with the banner and the orc shaman in the same unit you'll be Ld 9? problem is with no one really to protect him he'll be mashed by the first hero/good champion who gets to him, then the Ld starts dropping.
Another concern would be if the trolls break or are tied up, you don't really have any hitting power.
I would be tempted to make the wolf chariots one unit for extra punch on the charge.

The idea is that the Orc and BSB hang out in the 20 man unit behind the battle-line. Agreed that if the Orc dies I start to have real ugly issues. My hope is my tarpits are hard enough and I have enough chaff that nothing ever gets to the bunker. Magic and Warmachines are scary but if need be I can jump to a block. It's definitely the army's key weakness.
I've considered the chariots all in one unit, but my worry is:
1. Two less drops
2. One destroyed chariot probably means I lose all 3 when I flee.
3. Three chariots clog up the board better than one unit.
I'm keen to hear other people's thoughts on these three points.

1. two less drops maybe, but you have that many drops to make in deployment (i presume this is what you meant?) you should still be able to drop them in ideal position to exploit the enemies weakness.
2. Agreed, but the prescence of trolls and 2 manglers should draw enemy for long enough to get the chariots into a combat turn 2.
3. Again agreed, i still think its worth trying in a game or 2. it was purely an attempt to introduce one bigger punching unit rather than piece meal damage. 3 chariots should be able to break units of 20 ish men in one round of combat with a good roll for impact hits.
Nothing wrong with your plan, just thought it might be a good idea to try it. at least that way you know which option works best for you.

I prefer the chariots separate usually. With M9 and swift stride, usually you can get 2 or more chariots in a combat if you need to.
What lore does your boss take? Does he have LA and Shld? How has this gone for you? What do you aim for first in your opponents army? I ask bc I'm thinking about OnG for a non serious tourney this weekend and never use NG anymore bc they are always terrible for me. I was thinking plain orcs just because. But now I'm intrigued with your list Automatically Appended Next Post: Is the chaff usually on the flanks and the 3 NG units centered around the small NG units and war machines for leadership?

Hey mate, the warboss has to take a random rulebook lore and I tend to run him naked. I've only run a wizard hat once and tbh it didn't have much of an impact on the game either way. I think it'll be very dependent on matchups and what lore/spells you roll. For a more reliable list I'd drop him and pick up some fanatics.
The way the army works is the three blocks and trolls usually castle and the chaff either deploys on both flanks or all on one. With 4 war machines and foot of gork most armies are going to be forced to come to me. My chaff and shooting aims to clear the board of enemy chaff and force my enemy to come to me and hopefully trip my fanatic screen. I then tarpit and smash with a spare block, the trolls and whatever chaff is left. I've had pretty good success with this list at my club but it's untested in a tournament environment.
Hope that helps.
