Hello everyone,
i use dakka on my phone more than my laptop, I'm sure I'm not the only one, but sometimes the Internet can be messed up or blocked. So I was wondering if anyone with app programming experience would be able to/or is in the process of, making a dakka app?

This is probably better off in Nuts and Bolts.

Forum wise, you'd probably be better off using Tapatalk as a mobile dakka platform.

Probably work

The last time this question came up, the answer was "no".

From the point of view of someone who doesn't get the whole phone thing, what does using an app of some sort get you over just your phone's browser?

Usually the app allows for more options/ faster loading/ easier browsing of things like the gallery. And on some sites (not this one) that use flash player it allows you to access those things since phones can't run flash

Really? Not trying to be contentious or anything, but I think my phone can run Flash, and it's about 3 years old now.

At any rate, that would make sense if you needed that kind of feature set.

Apple phones can't run flash, but fret not, Android 2.2 and newer can...

I'm not going to spend any time developing an app, but will happily advise and tweak APIs for anyone that wanted to do so provided the app is completely free. Anyone who wants to make an app either as a personal project, a computer degree final project, or whatever, feel free to PM me.
