One of my friends played a joke on me and modeled my DV libby with a GK Daemonhammer he found. I was ticked off at it, but then I sorta wanted to use it, but I don't know if Libbies are allowed to take Nemesis FWs. Since my libbys sword was a force sword, could i use that Daemon Hammer as a Thunder Hammer w/ the Force Weapon Rule?

Is the option in your codex?

If the option to take a Thunder-Force Hammer is in your Codex, then you can do that.

[the option is not in your codex, unless it is the GK codex)

What you can do

1) run the model as is, but not obey Wysiwyg. Inform your opponents as such. Should be okay for friendly games, but not in a competitive tournament setting.

2) Convert the hammer into an Ax or Staff which should be options in your book. (Also should be not too hard to do)

just run it as a Librarian with a force axe because he still strikes last like he would with a force hammer but also in the C:SM there is no option for a libraian to change his weapon as he is equipped with a force weapon which can cover all of them if you think about it because in the rulebook it tells you what a force weapon can be so have a look in your rule book but if you were against me and called it a force hammer I'd be fine with that but it depends on who you do face.

why not run it as a force maul?

I have a biker with a termie thunderhammer which i stripped away the bulk from and run as a power maul and non of my opponents have complained

IMO this is the only real option. WYSIWYG is important with models with generic power weapons/force weapons.

Yeah, telling people how this and that is 'garbage' and they should just throw their minis into the trash as they're not as efficient as XYZ.

So the solution is to lie and pretend that certain options are effective so people will feel better?

Tell your friend to keep his hands off your models. Jokes like this are just plain crazy.

Since its a character, you could go for Counts As and say its a Force Axe. Just make sure you clarify at the start of the game.

Unless something has changed since 6e was released as long as the codex says Power/Force Weapon you have the option of modeling as a Sword,Axe,Maul,or Lance. Since a Hammer is a Maul and a Maul is a Hammer, just run it as a force maul and you are WSYIWIG and codex compliant.
