It's not just that it's limited edition everything, but they produce minimal stock.

I was talking to the owner of my FLGS, and he said that for our entire region of 7 million people and dozens of hobby stores, they only had 50 of the christmas megaforces (roughly one for every 3 stores in the province), and enough of the CoF for each store to get 4 copies.

So what this meant is only the busiest stores really got any of the products. So, for instance, one of the busiest stores in the region with 30-odd 40k regulars got A battleforce of both 'Crons and SM, and I believe 7 CoF.

Our store didn't get any of the battleforces, and the CoF books were gone by 2 hours after opening.

The asinine thing about this is that they don't produce enough to capitalize upon demand. I get the whole "limited" marketing trick, we saw that with the PS3 release, but they're not even hitting 30% of the potential buyers. I know 4 people in my group alone who would have bought the necron box, and another half dozen who would have bought CoF.

Yet GW doesn't want their money it seems.
