So I like grey knights and terminators and love the idea of a footslogging force. Can it work in 6th ed?

Army is as follows:

Grand Master
Incinterator
Rad Grenades

Inquisitor
Rad grenades

10 man Grey Knight Strike Squad
2 Psycannons
Daemonhammer
Psybolt ammo

10 man Grey Knight Strike Squad
2 Psycannons
Daemonhammer
Psybolt ammo

10 man Grey Knight Strike Squad
2 Psycannons
Daemonhammer
Psybolt ammo

5 Terminators
Psycannon
2 halberds, 1 daemonhammer, 2 swords
Psybolt ammo

Dreadnaught
2 autocannons

Dreadnaught
2 autocannons

1500pts on the dot!

Anyone see any glaring weaknesses? Can footlsloggers work in 6th edition?

Cheers for any feedback you guys have.

foot slogging is a lot better in 6th edition than it ever was in 5th.

just a few things to think about

1) What is the grand master doing for your list?

Grand strategy usually helps you take units like Interceptors and let them scout or score as needed. This gives you some speed in an otherwise slow moving list, without loosing scoring bodies.

2) Same question for the inquisitor, what is he doing for you?

Rad grenades are nice, but GK are a Shooting army. They should only be mopping up small or weakened units in close combat. To that end, an inquisitor with termi armor, Psycannon and Psyker upgrade is great.

3) you need some way of compensating for 24" range.

Dreads and other long range shooting is one way, but running only a couple of vehicles is a bit risky, as they die very fast.

Speedy units are the other way to compensate. Interceptors and Tele-knights both work well with Grand Strategy, and Storm Ravens are good gunships [don't run a unit inside of it, it is not needed}

I'd drop the RAD nads, drop the incinerators, drop the dreadnoughts. Morph the termies into purifiers and morph the inquisitor into Coteaz. +2 Dreadknights with incinerators and teleporters. Ask every opponent to concede to your power on deployment.

I need to return some video tapes.

Second on making the inquisitor shooty. Rad grenades are good if you have a unit that will benefit from them, but right now you are mainly shooting.

If you keep the terminators, drop psybolt ammo. Psybolt is a force multiplier, a decent option on a full squad. On a 5 man squad it is wasted.

If you keep the dreads, make sure to give them psybolt ammo.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

How would I get two dread knights in this list? I just can't see what else to drop. Also why drop the termites for purifiers? I took the termites so that I have a nice semi durable unit to go chase objectives and to place the GM inside. What would purifiers bring instead besides more bodies?

I'm very on the fence about taking dread knights. I like the idea of them however.

I have heard of a list similar to yours being used very effectively without the Dreadnoughts and termie squad. It was a generic Grand Master with 10 man Strike Squads and two Dreadknights. The Dreadknights were used a screen and the Strike Squads either followed behind or deep strike onto the board.

The 7 man Strike Squad can Deep Strike in with the Generic Gm and act as a retinue of sorts. There was also 5 points left over on this list so I used it to give the generic GM Blind nade's which will give his squad stealth which can help.

be careful with footslogging strike squads against hordes, I just got done playing a game against my friend who had 6×10 strike squads that I completely wiped out with my orks once I was able to charge. Other than that though the list looks pretty decent

Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.
