So I'm not sure why, but I really want an army with the following color scheme for a 40k army:

Primary: Blacks, dark greys
Secondary: Golds, bronzes, but not copper or tin. Silver\grey metallics on mechanized parts (engines, guns, etc.)
Tertiary (details, windows, scope glass, etc.): Ruby red, dark reds.

That's the general idea. I've found pictures that are close to the design, but nothing I want to post as an actual example.

My question is, are there any armies who's fluff would actually support the use of this color scheme? I'm aware you can always make a chapter or design anything you want and run with it, but for this I'm looking for a pre-established chapter\faction\warband\etc.

I'm not opposed to any race as the object of this, but would prefer whoever it is to have some decent vehicles.

Chaos Space Marines: Horus' legion are black and gold, and you can easily add red details to them, red eye lenses and other small details.

That's the only one that springs immediately to mind.

That's almost exactly the Carcharodons scheme. I could also see that scheme with necrons or dark eldar.

You could also go tau and flip the scheme for your kroot and give them red skin.

The Carcharodons.

They favor assaults and any vehicles that are good for assaulty type armies. Land Raiders, land speeders so they run really good vehicles. You can run all of the awesome space marine equipment.

They actually have amazing fulff and they are a rather unique and unknown space marine chapter.

They played a big part in the Badab War which is when GW released their fulff. Go check them out and warhammer 40k wiki and you can see a paint scheme and fluff.

Best of luck.

Also the Executioners.

They have a very similar color scheme to the Carcharodons but with a little more gold and red added to the mix.

Also a space marine chapter so the vehicle thing is taken care of.

They are an assault based army as well and they favor close combat in the fluff but if thats not for you all space marine chapters have units that are shooting based so even in the fluff you could take a 10 man tac squad that favors shooting over fighting. They are the unit that back up their battle brothers that like hand to hand. And that just happens to be the squad or 2 you use in game.

In my opinion they have a better name than the Carcharodons but the fluff is lacking a little for an established chapter. Its all personal though so dont be afraid to add a little of your own story to the pre established fluff.

Once again best of luck i hope i have gave you some decent information but you should really go over to 40kwiki and check out the info they have on both chapters.

Cheers

ORK GOFFS mainly black.... you can never get enough gold shows power. Could also do Bad Moon, yellow and black but badmoon have more money than anyother Warband so gold and black would look pretty cool. Especially Mega Nobz.

Iron Warriors are mainly black with some gold and silver details. Cool thing with them is that they were one of the original Space Marine Legions so you could do either Chaos Space Marines or Pre-Heresy Space Marines (although for Pre-Heresy you may need to get some actual Pre-Heresy models to make it look better).

When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

you can make any of the MEQs follow any colorscheme really. If i ever run any of them i'd be doin something abstract and unusual as well just because blue/red/grey armor is SO BORING

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.
