Subject: Dark Angels Dreadnoughts: Deathwing and Ravenwing

I have two questions about Dark Angels Dreadnoughts, one mostly lore based, and the other somewhat practical.
First, why does a distinction exist between the bone-white Dreadnoughts of the Deathwing and the chapter's green Dreadnoughts? According to the Codex, the white Dreadnoughts are members of the Inner Circle who have fallen in battle and are intered in the Dreadnought. Warriors of the standard battle and reserve companies are intered in Dreadnoughts in standard chapter colors (green). But doesn't that imply that the fallen brother is worthy of being intered in a Dreadnought, but unworthy of first company honors? If a battle-brother is good/brave/badass enough to deserve a Dreadnought, shouldn't he also be cool enough to recieve a promotion to the first company, and therefore Deathwing colors?
Silly question, I know. But I am curious about what people think. My second query is this: the Dark Angels codex bears no mention of Ravenwing members intered in Dreadnoughts. If a brother of the Ravenwing were to distinguish himself enough to be intered in a Dreadnought, would it be black, with Ravenwing markings? Green with the standard chapter markings? Or would his closeness to the first company (being a member of the second) merit him an immediate promotion to the Deathwing upon his conversion to a Dreadnought?
Mostly I ask this because I've been dreaming up a cool looking Ravenwing color scheme for my next Dreadnought, but I can't tell if the lore will bear it out.

To the first question I say this - imagine you have fought all your life only to find that you have been lied to, even giving your life for your chapter only to find only in death are you worthy to know the truth. I think you'd be pretty mad. not a good combo for a dread
You got me on the second sorry.

But I have have no morsel to share, nor anything to eat. But wait, what is that stickiness upon your feet.
Ah now I have you, now I can eat. Now I can enjoy you, or store you as meat.

(1) Being a loyal and excellent Space Marine is not enough to get into the Deathwing. There are plenty of loyal, skilled, honored DA who never make the Deathwing. When these are interred into Dreadnaughts, the chassis is painted green.
(2) Painting one's armor black (or not painting it green, depending on your point of view) is a sign of fighting with the Ravenwing. If you got transferred from the Ravenwing to the 3rd company, you wouldn't keep your armor black. So the question is, are any dreadnoughts assigned to the Ravenwing? If so, then the chassis are probably painted black. But it seems unlikely that a dreadnought would fit in with the fighting style of the Ravenwing.

I'd hold on for a hot minute, because the Dark Angels codex will be out soon. Maybe it could shed some light on the matter.
There very well may be a Ravenwing dreadnought, with wing motifs, and 'shudder' jump walker status.
You never know what they could get
Personally, if they had special jetbike/speeder sarcophagi for fallen ravenwing members, id be on board with that

OK if we are going to do some lure here then. Firstly some space marines that are given the info of being lied to for all this time end up being servitors after a nice little lobotomy to erase what they couldn't handle. So I would say if the honor of being wakened in times of need of tactical information or ceremony, then of course the times of war. They would keep the ranking before being placed into the service of a dreadnought. Plus I think it would be pretty hard to break the news to a dreadnought that what he died for or intombed for was a lie wouldn't be pretty if he became pissed

As for as the colors go; I'd doubt they'll Dread a Ravenwing member in anything other than the normal colors, odd I know.
Antigrav vehicles being extremely hard to produce and maintain in this day and age.
Second the Deathwing are superb individuals of the 1st company. Anyone who gets interred into a dread is going to be
one supreme marine of badarsery. Also, one who probabl isy worthy and capable of holding the honor, i.e. someone rather important.

The new codex might say that Ravenwing veterans get interred in hot pink dreadnoughts. It's kind of beside the point. A question can only be answered with the information that is available at the time. That said, I agree that the best time to start a new DA army would be after the new dex comes out since it's probably not too far away.

I intend to make my ravenwing dreadnoughts hot pink and flying. I shall call them "Land Speeders".

It was lost in one of the perennial 'why would people want any content besides the webshop?' purges but GW did have a Ravenwing Dreadnought up on the website a few years back and it was black.
Presumably like Bjorn such a dreadnought would be foremost an advisor rather than a combat asset, likely a marine of keen insight who helps plan the Ravenwings hunt for the fallen rather than a badass interred to help kill stuff.

Given that the Ravenwing colours seem to be more of an indicator of a transient, rather than permenant position, unlike the Deathwing, I am inclined to say that they would have normal colours.
One caveat of that would be Captains and officers of Ravenwing, which would more than likely be permenant members. They may get the horor of maintaining the Ravenwing colours in death.

Maybe the Ravenwing dreadnoughts would only provide heavy support and go down by drop pod to assist the Ravenwing in times of need, and the rest of the time support other companies.
I'd imagine they would be given the colour of the Ravenwing, however you may just have to wait till next Codex. If they don't mention, go crazy.
The Deathwing Dreadnoughts would either be those dreadnoughts who had gone above and beyond the call of duty normal for a marine deserving of Dreadnoughtation, or they would be members of the Deathwing who got interred.
They could be Dreadnoughts who had served for a really long time, or really heroically as a Dreadnought, however, I'm not sure of that. Any space marine that is interred within a Dreadnought stays with his (or hers) company.
TL;DR(Too long; didn't read) Any space marine that is interred stays with his company. Therefore, if they were a member of the Deathwing when they were interred, they thus become a Deathwing Dreadnought.

A: there are no "her" Space Marines.
B: you made this up. Nowhere does it say dreadnoughts stay with thier company.

First, which people have hinted at but not said, part of membersh of the deathwing is discovering some of the seacrets of the DA. Basicly moving up through the DA requires discovering that secrets, being judged worthy of knowing more, and then being told a little more of the truth. Membership of the deathwing is about allot more than just Termie honours.
I would say a dred would not automatically get entry to the deathwing, however, for my army I say they do and paint all of mine as DW. They may be greatly trusted for there tactical ability and skills but not with the truth.
Secondly I remember something about them staing with the company. No idea where. It may be in the DA codex, but I can't find mine at the moment.
Finaly, ravenwing dreds, don't forget that a large chunk of the ravenwing are also memebers of the deathwing anyway. They all know more than most DA so I don't think it unreasonable that they would be inducted if they were not already part of the DW.
