just curious as to what the typical game size is. I'm mostly asking from the standpoint of starting an army from scratch and trying to figure out how many points I should aim to collect, but I thought it would be an interesting question over all. I imagine it varies a bit according to the local meta and such.

I usually play anywhere from 1000-1500pts. It just works out quicker that way. I don't have a huge amount of spare time so I have been known to play 500pt games in my lunch hour at work.... Thats the bonus of working in a huge building with many empty rooms!

I also play a lot of 2nd Ed, and the points values in that were crazy, so games really don't last that long....
