While logged in I keep seeing a black box pop up on the left hand side of my screen from time to time. It's only there for a second tops and then disappears. Is there some sort of pop up trying to load on dakka? It seems like the thread preview box but it's only happening when I'm already actively viewing a thread.
I already get that really annoying sign in with face book notice. Not sure what the flashing box is but I wasn't getting it until the last two days or so. (and it doesn't appear on any other sites I use)

What web browser and what connection speed do you have? The little black box should load invisibly in the background, and yes it is just a placeholder for the post preview popups.
The annoying facebook thing should only be shown once, and never to logged in users. If you are seeing it multiple times on the same system, then either you are clearing your cookies a lot, or there is something odd happening.

I'm using Internet Explorer. Not sure what my connection speed is I'm running on cable.
(I only get the facebook box once on the first log in page. )

It does seem to happen completely randomly, when I move the mouse around looking to activate whatever triggers it I get no occurance. But when I'm reading threads it just happens randomly.
