A Skull at the Throne of Khorne

Somewhere, Sometime, Someplace

[img]Hello there Readers,
Just thought I'd write up about a nice brawl I had yesterday fielding my Chaos against my good friend's Deamons.

After a good long time playing rogue trader ( Good format if anyone is intrested ), and most of our scenarios playing as a group of mercenaries and an inquisitor attacking a deamonic fortress, covered with deamonic horde and a Nasty Chaos Lord, I've racked up quite a few HQ models to play as our Bosses. By a few, I mean about 24, So I decided 'Why not play some 40k with all this ?', and with my friend deciding that a change would be nice, we created out own scenario.

You each choose a maximum of 6 HQ units, with a maximum points limit of 500 points. You can upgrade them as you wish, and may take a warlord trait for all of them.

The game is played on 1 single 2x2 tile, with each of you taking half of the tile each. All models are placed in reserve, except 1, who you field in the first turn. You can place your model anywhere in your section as you wish, and this applies to all models in your army.

At the start of each of he following turns, you may place a reserved unit from your reserve pile onto the board withou rolling. You can only place 1 unit on the board a turn. No rolls for deamonic summoning or deepstriking are required, though you may still roll for it. If the unit suffers a misshap however, it is desroyed for the game and the other player recieves it as a Kill.

The game is played until 1 player loses all units.

Our lists looked something like this =

My chaos marines -
( Take note : I'm using the 4th edition codex in this battle, because it was determined using the 6th edition one would deem me overpowered, so my opponent had a handicap from this moment)

Chaos Lord
- Terminator Armour
- MoK
- Deamon Weapon
- Combi Weapon

Chaos Lord
- Terminator Armour
- MoK
- Deamon Weapon
- Combi Weapon

Chaos Lord

Opponent's Deamon List -

Keeper of Secrets
- All Upgrades

Keeper of Secrets
- All Upgrades

First off, your now thinking that I'm utterly screwed over. But +2D6 attacks and a 2+ save definately sounded nicer than it played like ...

Turn 1 -

He went first,
Moved up (Now 6'' from my model)
Attempted to fire Pavane,
Failed,
Charged,
Failed.

I moved back,
Shot a bit with my pistol,
Scored a wound,
Charged,
Succsessful,
Got in,
He hit first,
Ran me through with 2 wounds,
I hit back,
Scored 2.

End of turn 1,
We both had units on 1 wound a piece.

Turn 2,

My 2nd Lord arrived
A Keeper of Secrets appears,
Behind my 1st -.-

He attempted to fire Pavane,
Failed,
Charged,
And I'll just say I was overkilled by 2 wounds -.-

My lord shot a bit,
Killed off his 1st Keeper,
Then decided to stand around for a bit ...

End of Turn 2,
1 Death a piece,
2 left for me,
1 left for him,

Turn 3,

He finally manages to succseed with a shooting,
And walks me into Dangerous terrain,
And my luck deicded that I should die -.-

I shot,
Scored a wound.

End of turn 3,
2 to 1,
1 left each.

Turn 4,

He fired again,
And as luck would have it,
Walked me into dangerous terrain,
But I didn't die,
But was now within 8'' of him.

I charged,
He hit first,
1 wound,
I hit,
Took him down to 2 wounds.

End of turn 4,
Nothing changed, apart from we are now nearing the end,

Turn 5,
He hits first,
And luckily kills me ...

End of Game
Victors = Deamons.

Don't ask how I lost -.-

Thanks for reading.

BLOOD FOR THE ..... Wait, I forgot this part ....

Well, I'd say that having you use a codex that is two editions old is a pretty big handicap.

I believe you were a bit overly nice on that one. Deamons aren't doing so bad in this edition so I am not entirely sure why he thought you bringing the updated dex would be overpowered.
