Hello everyone I've recently decided to try 40k been hunting for an army and I've landed on Dark Angels I have a friend who is giving me some figures to start with but it's only about 500 pts and they all play 1000pts whatever that means. Looking to expand that army without breaking the bank any pointers?

Check ebay and amazon. You might be able to find stuff on the cheap there.

It is the way of Fenris. We stay as long as we can. Fight as hard as we can. Kill as much as we can. Only when we can do no more do we move on.

Sometimes you gotta roll the hard six!

check ebay for dark vengeance dark angels. Nice smattering of units there, and if you look a bit, you can get the batch for about $30.

Welcome to Dakka, amoney.
These are excellent suggestions which you have received so far.
Another idea is to get a local Chaos player to split the cost of a Dark Vengeance box with you.
You will get a copy of the rules as well.

wait until the new codex comes out dude. Could easily be within the month, then decide what you want to get... probably you just need to choose between bikes or terminator heavy force, I would suggest bikes for small games.

I agree with Chaos Legionnaire, Going halfsies on a box is always a good idea. Welcome to the hobby, don't feel too overwhelmed. This is a good place to ask questions, or stalk the forums and learn.
