So what I'm trying to do with this list is get off a good Alpha Strike and then clean up for the next few turns. The only reason I chose the sentinels over Vendettas is so I had them in game Turn 1. I have some experience with Dark Eldar so I should be able to keep them alive for awhile.

The Primiars rolls on the Telepathy Powers tree what I want to get is Terrify and Psychic Shriek these both work well with weaken resolve from the Psyker Battle Squad but I would be happy with Dominate, Metal Fortitude or Puppet Master as they are all usefull I can't get the other 2 though because my Psyker only has a warp charge level of 1.

My biggest threat with this list is Psychic Defence and Anti-Tank so they will be the first to die I will then have some Psychic fun and go to town.

What does everyone think is it worth me going out and buying a ton of Sentinels?
I might play this list a few time with some Killa Kans as Proxies, I figure keeping the Sentinels Alive would be equal to keeping 9 Venoms alive as they have the same Armour and Hull point and they are both Open-Topped.

How would you counter this list?
What is its biggest weakness?

Before I comment on the list too much, you do know that the PBS can't use its powers out of the chimera fire points right?

FAQ screwed this over, I thought I should bring it up as it might cause you to reconsider some choices.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

I don't see much in terms of a psychic alpha strike here, the only alpha you could possibly do turn 1 is from the choirs pie plate.

I DO see a plasma alpha, and I think most would kill themselves honestly.

Chance of Weaken Resolve going off: 69% (55% if there is a Psyker in the targeted squad)
Chance of Psychic Shriek going off: 69% (55% if there is a Psyker in the targeted squad)

Chance of both powers going off: 47% (30% if there's a Psyker in the targeted squad)

Morale of the story: Don't base your army around it. When 6th Ed came out I shat myself in excitement about this list before anyone else. And then played with it 4 times and had little success. Sad times =/

I dunno, if you like flipping coins you might enjoy the Shriek/Weaken Resolve tactic (assuming you can get 12" away).

use the kans as proxies first, youll probably find they aren't as durable. Venoms are fast, virtually always have a jink save and churn out more fire. For 450pts, you've got 9 lascannons with half hitting. Yes they can outflank as it looks like they're scout sentinels from the cost but then this brings up the issue you said with vendettas. If you took three units of melta vets in chimeras, that would be a similar cost and then you'd have a horde of AV12 which many would find difficult to deal with. I dont think you need so many plasma vets either as they're costly and alot will be killing themselves.
If it was a psychic onslaught, for 1850pts I would have thought you'd have another primaris and at least one more, if not two PBS in chimeras.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

Just checked the FAQ. That really blows. Back to the drawing board.

Hmm yes this list will be mashed by a dedicated army in any field. Dedicated cc list will overrun you, dedicate shooting will out pee shoot you and rip you apart. lastly hate to say it but some balanced lists have more psychic potential than this list e.g a few TS's

Not only are psychic powers unreliable, but it's unreliable before you even cast them. If you roll poorly on the psychic powers table, your strategy might be killed before it even starts. Of course, this is mitigated by the fact that it's not even a psychic list to begin with. I mean, let's be honest, you're spending twice as much on SENTINELS are you are on psykers.

If what's important to you is alpha strike, then I'd actually dump the PBS and turn half its points into lascannons for those vet squads.

Well Psychic Shriek is the Primaris power so he is guaranteed to get it. The other powers are simply bonuses!
