Hi all,

I've just started my 3rd 40k army - Space Wolves.

Been painting for about 20 years and am capable of a pretty high standard - but I am slooooooooow. Really slow

My first army is Eldar and painted really well but at a really slow pace and I've got thousands of points left to paint and most of them will probably never be painted because I will be 6 feet under. I made the mistake of painting them pretty much to the highest standard I could and now its too late to change. I am not using washes at all and using layering and highlighting

So having learnt this lesson my 2nd army - Orks - I am painting with a much quicker technique. It still looks ok but not as good as the Eldar. But it is 10 times quicker. Basically just drybrushing and Devlan Mudding on mass. It makes them look kinda dirty and not vibrant but you can get away with it because they're orks

My problem is that I want my Space Wolves to look clean like my Eldar, but without starting out with a strategy that will mean I have another army that will never be painted. I dont particularly want to use washes, although I would if someone has a technique that looks good.

What I really want to know is how other experienced Wolf players have painted their armies so I can assess the different options. Any photos people could provide would also be great. I want something quick thats looks good, but I suppose thats what everyone wants really .

At the moment I am considering spraying all white, spraying all light blue (investigating other brands of paint other than GW to see if this is an option) and then painting darker blue in the recesses around the armour plates. I dont mind the time it takes picking out the detail, its the main armour that concerns me.

Thanks brothers!
