So I picked up Priests of Mars on Dec. 7th and finished it in short order.

If you like the AdMechs, or are Mechanicus-curious, it's a good, quick read that looks ready to jump on the bus to trilogy town. I can't wait for more.

Good length and pacing, memorable characters, wonderful introduction to McNiel's work. Although lighter on combat scenes than other 40k books, McNiel kept me hooked in from page one, and I could easily see myself buying the next installment the day it hits the shelves.

While I think McNeill writes Space Marines terribly, he does write fairly good human characters.

There are Black Templars in the book (a grand total of 6, in fact.) They were interesting, and had a bit of a mystical side to them. Since I know precious little about the chapter, I'm not sure if it's normal or not. That said, I liked them when they spoke, which was rare.

Hmmm will buy tonight.
