Well FW has realized how big a cash cow their HH series will be so are milking that.
Expect no xenos stuff until the release of Imperial Armour Volume 12, which will probably have a decent amount of new Necron mini's

True, true, its a cash cow, no denying it. But surely even the Imperial Army has a whole bunch of things to release for it?
Plus thats a real shame about Xenos, and yey Necrons... or rather "No! Necrons!" because Ill be on the other side of the table!

FW used to be GW's Skunkworks, lots of exciting bits and bobs and fething titans and baneblades an T-hawks. Now they are GW +
GW has the mentality that Marines sell the best therefore we must produce more Marines, More Astartes means that power armoured soldiers sell more than anything else (proportionately than any other race or type) so more Marines.
And the cycle continues.
In Gw's mind anything other than Its poster boys is a risk and sales will be set against their existing benchmark.

Wondering Why the Emperor Left

As stated, FW is finally releasing items many fans have requested for years, myself included. While I haven't felt the urge to buy every Heresy era release, FW is the only section of GW holding my interest.
I don't really know what IG/IA players feel they need or want. FW has a vast array of tanks, planes and support vehicles to make a collector happy (IMHO).
While the last year(s) has been dominated by Heresy era kits, FW has come along way since the days of just super heavies and titans, including sourcebooks and a Fantasy side.

It's a business...
Business makes Marines.
Marines make money.
Business makes more Marines.
Business makes more money.
To do otherwise would be... illogical.

I'm pretty stoked about it. Couple all the great HH stuff with the fantastic stuff Warhammer Forge has been producing and colour me a happy man.

Not to mention, GW has loads of designs for marines and power armor, and 3rd party companies are making lots of them.
GW has a vested interest in having an official version of every piece of art they have ever made on the market. The more versions of guns, backpacks and armor they make, the more covered they are and less market potentially for 3rd party models to 'fill in'.

I'm sorry but FW doing more marines is not "lets make more of this to make money". People have been asking for, and they have been wanting to make, HH for yyyyeeeerrrrssss....
And why should they not do what people want the most? As long as they are makeing the models they want. The problem would come when FW started making stuff they didn't want to make and it seems, given the number of Xeno minis they make they are not interested in making Xeons.

Whilst it would be nice to see a bit more diversity with GWs releases, I have found the HH stuff Forge World is putting out to be amazing. Pricey - but still amazing. I'm sure they'll get back to xenos stuff with the next IA book, but people have been asking for Heresy stuff for years - I'm just happy they are now producing.

FW are the only stuff I'm buying.
SM & IG are well catered for, but they are the main cash cows.
Unless there is a major shift in the dynamic it's all we're going to see.
