Played a tourny yesterday, here was a huge arguement. Do you get the Jinx save from the deff rollas

Do the Deff Rollas ignore Cover saves?

Yes.


Before if they made a 3+ dodge, we missed all together.

Now we get to make D6 attacks, and then they need to make individual Jink saves per result.

Deffrollas are much better against skimmers now.

EDIT: It doesnt say in the rules you have to do a ram to a vehicle, if you tank shock a vehicle you wont get a ram effect but you can use your def rollas

A: Yes.

I believe the rulebook itself specifies that if Skimmers are rammed they get their jink saves.

Ramming is a special type of Tank Shock. You get you normal ramming damage, and the Deffrolla damage.

Indeed, you get normal Ram plus the actual Deffrolla damage. The Deffrolla is in addition to a Ram, it doesn't replace it.

So you get D6 Str10 hits and 1 hit at a Str of 5 + 1 for each full 3" the BW moved(Tank + AV14 = str5 minimum)

?? There was an entire many pages x many times section of threads on whether a BW could ram and use the deff rolla! If it wasnt a tank it couldnt even tank shock, meaning the deff rolla would do nothing....

I thought the Deff Rolla gave the BW the ability to tank shock, It was explained to me that way and I never questioned it.

Ah right - nope, the BW has always been a tank; the reinforced ram (from memory) on Trukks is what makes them a tank

Not quite. It allows them to ram/tank shock, as of it were a tank. However I cannot recall of it treats it as a tank for the purposes of ramming.

Nope, the ram just allows the trukk to tankshock/ram. The trukk is not a tank.

Ork codex specifically states that the Ram or Deffrolla (as its a beefed up ram) allows Tank Shocking or Ramming despite the type. A trukk with a ram can tank shock, despite not being a tank.
EDIT: Also adds +2 to the front armor up to 14, so a trukk ramming a vehicle gets AV12 for the purpose of the charge. Too bad that wasnt a flat out buff lol god that would be awesome.

I never saw anything stating Deffrolla was an additional D6 S10 attacks on top of the average Str8 attack from the ram charge, but then again i never saw anything saying it replaces it either.

If I tank shock enemy unit let's say Zoanthrope brood and on the way there we have other enemy units do they all get D6 hits?

Yeah +2 for DoG only but it SHOULD add 2 to all Rams, hopefully I the next codex ala the DE Shock Prow.

eh? its only DoG? hmm well i never had it arise anyway my trukks always go boom first or second turn regardless.
