For those of you who have seen the Hobbit movie this weekend, did any of you notice that the blue Orc character was screaming WAAAGH every time he lost a fight?
Or was it just me?

Waaaaaaagh is just a spelling of the general cry beasties kinda yell when amped up and ready to fight. It just gained legs as a battlecry and energy of GWs orkoids.

It is practically a onomatopoeia.

It is just guys yelling in the movie.

Though the Perry's were on set for a bit of it...so maybe they slid it in.

But did you also notice the Wilhelm Scream by the goblin falling to his doom? (Ok it was one, but it was clearly audible).

Perhaps it was a shameless plug for GW to go buy their fantasy and LOTR models....

Yeah that scream really stood out. Anyone notice Peter Jackson's cameo? Hard to spot if you don't know where to look.

Did anyone notice the similarity between the King of Goblin Town and the old meta/finecast Nurgle Daemon Prince?

Seriously.. scarily similar.

Know thy self. Everything follows this.

Heres my take on it.

The Facts:

1) The GW "Waaagh" has a clear "G" sound to it in any GW audio. More than just a "Waaaaa" scream.
2) I think Peter Jackson is a wargamer (or at least GW collector).
3) GW/Hobbit tie in.

Therefor I think it might well be a little easter egg for GW players.

Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed the Wilhelm Scream. Couldn't help but think "Really?"

I think it would be quite humorous if GW sent New Line Cinema a cease and desist lol, talk about biting the hand that feeds you...

It is very obvious in every LotR movie as well.

Peter Jackson is a wargamer.
He also has very close ties to GW, with several Studio members(if I remember right: Alessio Cavatore, the Perry Brothers, Mat Ward, and Robin Cruddace) having been given the chance to be extras in "Return of the King" after the fact that they worked so closely with the models and actors.

They all got horribly killed as Rohirrim/Gondorian soldiers, but still.

Oh good, I was thinking maybe I think about Orks too much.
It really did sound exactly like a Waaagh to me.

I didn't notice the Peter Jackson cameo but I'm guessing he was one of the Dwarves in the beginning.

I've heard at least a half dozen babies also using the phrase. Hopefully GW crushes those tiny freeloaders.
