Hello all,

I am planning on making a Thousand Sons Army. However, the army will be led by Ahriman, and I would like to stick by his principles - no Daemons or signs of Daemonic corruption.

However, for tactical reasons, I want to play with Daemons - namely Pink Horrors, a Herald of Tzeentch, and a Soul Grinder. So I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for cool units to model/proxy as some kind of non-daemonic, thousand sons style pink horrors.

I'm going for a mostly Egyptian theme, as well as using golem/robot like units for some of the other more daemonic units. For example, I plan on using a converted Tomb Kings Necrosphinx for the Soul Grinder and some kind of Terminator/Dreadnought hybrids for Obliterators.

Thanks guys!

For the pink horrors, pehaps a miniature version of the Tomb Kings Bone Giant, made from cobbled together mismatched bits of smaller skeletons?

totally random idea... for horrors, use necron bodies with 1K style heads:

somewhat robotic and artificial whilst maintaining the Egyptian theme.

Wow Lingula those are pretty sweet, thanks! I hadn't thought about using Necrons before actually, might not be a bad idea.

I was actually thinking something along the lines of a squad of apprentice mages could be cool. I'm not sure GW has much along those lines, but I may consider something like this:

Tomb Kings?

Could look pretty cool - fits with the egyptian theme. They're no deamons, just chapter serfs that have lost their flesh.

I am currently taking commissions.

I'm currently working on a Thousand Sons army as well.

I'm using Tomb King skeleton warrriors as cultists, and I've got 4 sphinxs. 2 of them are Forgefiends, and 2 are helldrakes.

skeletons could work as horrors, maybe Tomb King chariots as a Tzeentch herald on chariot. The sphinx would do good as a soul grinder if you get the base size right.

For ideas, take a look at my thread here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/484682.page#5088798

@Moronic Nonsense:

Cool, I really like your sphinxes. I may consider getting some heldrakes and using sphinxes to model them. Too many units to fit into one list!

After reading through your thread, I now also want Cataphractii Terminators, but they're so expensive from forgeworld! Who really needs 20 terminators, anyway? Have to see if I can get them in smaller quantities elsewhere.

Could you possibly post some close-up pictures of your skeleton cultists? It's an interesting idea and I'd like to get a better look at how they turned out for you.

you can buy the terminators in sets of 5. The big set of 20 is just a cool formation of them.

Right now I'm actually doing the test paint on the first cultist, I'll definitely add that to my thread.

If you better pics of the cultists before paint, check out my article on Spikeybits blog here: http://blog.spikeybits.com/2012/11/cheap-n-easy-chaos-cultists-conversions.html
