Say I have eight Terminator-armoured Wolf Guard, and I buy them a Land Raider Crusader, maxing out the transport capacity. I send one off to join some Blood Claws, and put my Terminator-armoured Wolf Lord in the Crusader in his place. Is this legal, or do I have to have seven Wolf Guard and a Wolf Lord as the unit at the start of the game?

Sounds legal to me, at the point of deployment, the WG squad is only 7 strong, so there is room for him.

It is perfectly fine dedicated transport for the unit. Even if you split off 7 of the WG, the remaining man can take the landraider.

You pay for the WG as a unit before the game but at deployment you separate them and put them into whatever squads you want. That's why people, i.e. me, can do things like take five WG put one in TDA with a CCM and split them up to put that CCM in with a squad of LF.
