Insane levels of detail, but it's a great effect. I've learnt a lot from watching, thanks. I particularly liked the 'sucking off the brush' slip of the tongue too...

Looking good.
FYI if you mix Streaking grime with more thinner say a 1:8 grime/thinnner ratio it can be used as a filter.
Your technique is spot on,right out of FAQ2
I can also recommend highly the interior wash and grime.
Basecoat a light bone color, satin varnish, sponge chip with a black brown and hit with wash for perfect tank interiors every time.
Another way to do dust is use Tamiya Buff(or similar color) thinned 1:10 paint/thinner then spray it on the lower third

That is some great advice mate and the tamiya buff sounds great. Funnily enough I have been painting a dark angels rhino with a bone colour interior to fit in with the box art work and used a similar technique only with vallejo'S brand new model colour wash's that emulate oil paints they worked pretty good

Its quite ironic how much care and attention goes into making something look neglected
Lol thanks for the kind words

This is amazing - I'd love to try it out on the some tanks in the future, but the army I'm thinking of (Heresy-era Iron Hands) would have glossy black painted tanks - at least before the weathering.
What would you change in this to get similar effects on a black vehicle, and is there any way of keeping the remaining paint looking glossy, while the weathering looks matt/satin?

That sounds like a great colour scheme mate
. I would go with a light grey colour to show through as the chips ( it has to be a light colour to pop out from the black ), but if you want the black to have a gloss Finnish, but not the chips that show through it would be very hard to achieve this with a spray gloss varnish. Adding dirt and grime over the gloss black finish would not be a problem at all and would actually look really cool as the contrast between the shiny paint job and the matt dust and mud would look awesome.

I absolutely was beside myself while watching this and did indeed get a nice cup of hot tea while I watched this. Looks like I have to strip a stompa .
I hope this strategy adapts to yellow paint. I feel it will but, lets make sure!
