Cheers for the report, nice BC images. You know you can place characters where they 'actually are' in units, right? As long as they're locked to the unit they'll move with it too, and without generating a move arrow
Spoiler:
Pity about the Beast roflstomp, but honestly his failing isn't necessarily his army being one-dimensional, more so the armybook's ability to do 'fighty chaff' at the level it needs to to compete with other books. His list has a TON of chaff in it, which is actually rather two-dimensional of him (i.e. the movement phase + combat phase) and pushes one of the beast books best strengths - hounds + harpies + razors - nor should we forget that his magic should at least in theory have been pretty decent, with what he invested in it. O&G simply do the support game extremely well, and you've taken just about the best support package you could have, with double divers, double lobbas, double manglers. This isn't a bash on you at all, gobs need to take all their eevil toys for the win
So it's less 'silly beast general building a one-dimensional list' and more 'silly GW making a two-dimensional army that isn't catastrophically good at the killy dimension' Saving grace is that if he had gone first you would have had a mess of fanatics to deal with too, rather than him alone - so the dice can be blamed afterall!

You're absolutely correct Salvage regarding his list. Against most other armies his chaff would be quite effective, but against OnG it couldn't really hack it. I agree that the issue isn't the general, it's an army book that can have a tough time influencing the battle enough to get good match-ups in. I've talked this through with my mate and he's fared pretty well against other armies that don't pack the kind of "support pack" that mine does. Thanks for the input.
Definately a tough match-up for the beasts; gors can put out a decent number of attacks, buffed by a successful primal fury test, but they are hampered by M5 which makes it easy to plan likely points of engagement.
One rules point from the battle report, O&G turn 3 magic: -
Finally I cast Hand of Gork on the trolls and move them into an awkward position to G1's flank. They're outside of the General's leadership bubble though so I'll have to rely on stupidity to stumble them into G1. In 8th ed, you cannot charge if you fail a stupidity test - if failed, you stumble forward but stop 1" away.
I look forward to reading your next report

Hey Ford, thanks for pointing out the rules mistake.
I've decided not to do up my next battle report as it is another 4 turn tabling and it was now over 2 weeks ago and I can't find my notes. There'll be more in the new year though....
Nice report, although it would be nice to see a closer game! (I'm about to read your other report and maybe it was )
I was going to point out the stupidity rule, too, but I don't think he ended up charging with them anyway (just turning them around with hand of gork) so it didn't come up in this game.
