I'm starting on my Imperial Guards pretty soon, but I noticed I will be running out of Kommando khaki shortly.

So I would like to buy more, but as GW got new paints I'm not sure what to get. Most of my men will be basecoated by airbrush, so I would need a airbrush friendly brand.
Any ideas? I know the brands, but I don't know how the colour would look in real life, so if anyone got the same problem and found a solution to this, please let me know.

The new GW alternative is Kharak Stone.

I don't have my paints to hand but I'm not 100% sure it's one of the better colour matches.

You could look at the closest possible match in the Vallejo Model Air range, or wait for Badger's new range of model AB paints to come out and try them.

I am currently taking commissions.

If you're desperate, and need a lot, take a little bit on a piece of paper (good coverage) and have it color matched at the hardware store.

Interior household paint comes in multiple finishes, is also thinned with water, has good coverage, doesn't obscure detail (when thinned properly), and goes through an airbrush just fine (when thinned properly).

That is, if you don't mind having a small can of Khaki colored paint. At least you'll NEVER run out

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?

I was thinking about the GW paints too AG, atleast then I would have the base, mid and highlight colours. I do have the "Cadian" green range, which turned out too bright for my likeing and not that rich green colour it used to be.

Haha, I think I will stick to two-four smaller pots fenrir, get them in a dropper bottle and pewepw!

Speaking of green though, any idea what could replace Catachan green?

Fair enough lol, can't argue with that logic.

Yeah, I forgot about that Paint Compatability chart. Since the new range popped out, I've just been mixing my paints to match whatever I'm looking for. Getting good at it too...

Of which I actually mixed some Catachan Green! I apologize but I have no recipe

Badger's new Minitaire line should be in stores now. I know my supplier shipped my new set out the end of last week. The selection looks pretty good - though I have to get my hands on them in order to see what matches with what else. You can get a preview of the palette here:

They should start getting loaded into the various online shops sometime this week as I had already placed a standing order with my source they shipped them out before they even assembled the new rack.

Ken is sending me some to try out for free!

I'm so excited, I'll do a little review when they arrive.

I have the old GW Kommando Khaki and i have the P3 Hammerfall Khaki, for me i can't really tell them apart and use them interchangeably. I don't know how well it runs through an airbrush, i do not have one, but it is a very close match.
