We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

the pilot has nothing to do with the vehicle being a model. A vehicle is a model in its own right and therefore can DTW if it is targeted by a psychic power.

Vehicles can use Deny the Witch just like any other model.

Yup, totally legal, I haven't played yet against GK rhinos but... would they get 5+ DTW since they are psykers?, Wouldn't surprise me as they need to get every single advantage over other marine armies.

No they would not. They are psykers only for the purposes of casting psychic powers. At all other times they are just another vehicle.

Don't have a GK codex to hand but if they can cast powers and are psykers for that why can't they get the bonus for DTW? Or is that tied to the hood?

The hood has nothing to do with it.

The Psychic Pilot rule says they are Psykers only for the purpose of Psychic tests and anything that effects them.

This is important because for things that effect psykers, like the DE Crucible of Malediction, they are not effected by them.

Nope. They arn't a psyker for the purposes of DTW, only for taking psychic tests.

DTW is for powers that effect them...

You've got the antecedent wrong there; not entirely your fault as his phrasing was ambiguous. The antecedent of "them" was "psychic tests", not "GK vehicles".

The psyker pilot is treated as a psyker for psychic hoods... does that not get them a bonus in DTW?

It does say it's a psyker with a mastery lvl and a given ld value for both powers and hoods, is that not good enough?

It's not much of a leap, but I'd say it is a leap. The PP rule says it counts as a psyker and LD10 for purposes of psychic tests and psychic hoods. Strictly speaking, DTW is neither of those things, although psychic hoods do give an upgraded DtW.

It definitely should be FAQ'd. In the meantime, I'd say it's best to stick with the less-powerful interpretation, since there's ambiguity.

The "psychic hoods" part was given in the rule because of how the hoods worked last edition in relation to stopping it's own powers from activating.

I know in 5th ed it worked that way but 6th is as described above.

IT's just another rule GW didn't update either because they forgot, or they thought they didn't have to.
