Like i said trying to choose between the three but don't wanna pick an army that's gonna get wiped easily,i like the idea of shooting but also want it to be fast and versatile. Also if you could show me a competitive list id appreciate it.

I'd say the first and foremost thing will be the way the models look to you. If you love the way the models look, you're more likely to stick with the faction.

Next is playstyle. Every faction can play a multitude of different play styles but will excell at specific things. Figure out how you want your models to play on the board.

Now I've never played as Cygnar or Cryx, but I've played against them quite a bit. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses.

I am a Legion player, and I couldn't recommend them more. They are fantastic fun, the models looks great, and they have a very diverse playstyle and can do many very well. When ever I feel stuck in a rut playing the same style game, I just swap casters and a few models and its all new again. Its a great feeling.

Good luck~!

As hivemind says, pick the faction you like the look of best, as they are all evenly matched so none will be wiped out easily.

I've played with Cygnar for a wee while now, and I really enjoy them. The starter bundle is great, pStryker is a great basic caster to start learning the game with.

For playstyle, Cygnar are probably the "shootiest" faction, but as hivemind has said, all of the factions can play a more shooty game although Cygnar will do this best. However, in this game combat is almost inevitable, so don't rely solely on that to win. The only time I've seen games end without cc is when a warcaster has been left exposed to firepower, and this won't happen often against an experienced player.

For Cygnar, a list featuring Kraye and a Hunter 'jack or 2 will give you a mobile and shooty force. I've not played with Kraye, myself, but a list along the lines of :-

Kraye -6

Hunter +6

Minuteman +5

Stormclad +10

Total - 15pts

Would seem like a good starting point for him.

Hope that helps, and I wish you luck, whatever army you choose!

I liked the original battle box because it was cheap, gave you more than enough shredders than you really need bar spam lists and the Carni/Lylyth1 combo is a solid foundation for the faction.

The warpears are ok, and the new UA might up their game, but as of right now (pre-UA release), I feel they are a mediocre choice compared to our other options that are available. I own a ton of legion and hardly ever run the Ogrun.

With that said, I'd say the battle box is worth its price and is a great starting point, but the warspears tend to be used less and less over time. I'd recommend picking up the box without the spears and picking up another unit. Depending on what casters catch your eye will depend on what unit/models to purchase after. Legos+Pot are a great combo, and helps Legion with attrition and just last night I assassinated pMagnus with a Pot Spawned Stinger! I love it.

Striders+UA and Raptors are also in high demand and Hex Hunters are very solid. Swordsmen tend to fit in lists often, but not quite as common, but they are weapon masters which is good times.

If you choose legion, start investigating our warlock roster and choose a few to focus on. Play some battle box games first though and get a real feel for the faction.

Also, one of Legion's greatest strengths are our solos and fury management, so Foresaken, Shepherds, Spell Martyrs and Deathstalkers are HIGHLY recommended. Martyrs are cheap and fit in several lists, but not always necessary, and Lylyth does not need them, so they are more Caster dependent.
