I have been playing around with the idea of a warrior list after seeing some on the forum i am not bothered about it being over competitive it is for fun, but would like some chance of a victory.

The idea is to have the hormogaunts as a meatshield, with the venomthrope just behind for a 5 up cover save for more survivability then the army will slowly advance as a small fire base splitting up when needed in certain areas, is it worth swapping the tervigons psychic power for prescience on the biomancy table, any advice on this list would be really appreciated as i am quite new to 40k

you need one squad of termagaunts to make one tervigon a troop choice so i would rework your list a little

Spike rifles are almost a down grade. Unless you facing guard, they make the Termigaunts worse.

Your going to find very quickly that warriors dont last long at range. Missiles and lascannons will rape your warrior broods.

I am not seeing the Trevigon helping this list all that much. I think you might get better return on a pair of Zoanthrope and pod.

A Warrior list has some cool potential. However they have two downfalls that I see. First, they are susceptible to instant death from a variety of weaponry. Can't do much about that - it's an inherent flaw. Second, they can be outranged rather easily as they possess (more or less) the same weapon as your Termagaunts. Problem two does have a solution though, Mycetic Spores! The only way Warriors will realistically work in a semi-competitive game is by vast mobility of the drop pods.

So my suggestion would be this; drop the gaunt squad to 10 with Fleshborers, use them and the Tervigon for scoring on your side and possibly midfield. Shrikes are a solid choice, if you could have another squad of them it'd be preferable. Drop the Hormagaunts entirely they help no one. Use newly acquired points to put all Warriors and hopefully the Carnifex into Mycetic Spores. This'll at least put a huge wound pool and cover on your opponents side of the board and give your Warriors an opportunity to lay waste to what they land next to. I approve of having a melee group of them.

Only issue with podding them is that you then waste the Primes as you still can't put Primes in a spore with Warriors.

A: No.

SO Pod the Fex and the Bonesword to get them down field fast. Use the Primes as missile/Las shields for the rest of the brood. Take codex powers so you are sure to get Catalyst for the FNP.

the best way to use a warrior list with pods is to stay away from primes and just go for a flyrant or a tervigon

if your going or some footsloggin warriors make them real shooty with deathspitters and venom cannons then back them up with a podding doom or 2-3 zoanthroapes to draw the fire of the tanks and use some venomthroapes to at least give your warriors a save if they get battle cannoned
