Good work so far,

Black is hard to do. If you go too much, it looks fake. If you dont use enough, you cant tell its highlighted...

I like what you've got so far.

Have you tried to just drybrush your entire model with a dark gray and then just washing it with Nuln oil or just watered down black paint?

Give it a run on a test model...you might like it

I'd really rather not just do a brush/wash. I don't feel it's appropriate for small armies (and as this army will only have 41+3 tanks models, it isn't exactly large.)

If this was a guard model, I would've done it already.
