Ok so i'm getting my brother a Birthday present from forge world and i'm not sure what to get

XV88-2 BROADSIDE WITH SMART MISSILE SYSTEM

TAU REMORA DRONE STEALTH FIGHTERS

TAU DRONE SENTRY TURRET WITH MISSILES

OR

XV9 HAZARD CLOSE SUPPORT ARMOUR

What does everyone think would be the best gift?

The XV88-2 is gorgeous and doesn't need an opponent's permission to play, go with that one.

Tau and Space Wolves since 5th Edition.

I don't see it listed, but something I would suggest is the Tetra. They really add a lot to a Tau army, and are fairly cheap for a forge-world model.

Ah I see how this relates to Tau.

Alpha Legion, having infiltrated a CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORT, disguise themselves as Tau. Yesssssh, I see.

Broadside all the way, great model, playable in any game, and a unit you will run every single game anyway.

Just remember they tend to give 60mm bases for cinematic modeling, and the unit uses 40mm in-game.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Broadsides by far. Awesome model and something your brother will use in pretty much every Tau list. As for the other things:

XV-9s are decent (make sure you get fusion or ion, the standard BC one sucks), but they're expensive and not really something you can just throw in a list without thinking about it much. Avoid these unless he's specifically mentioned them.

Remoras are a cool model (if he loves painting), but rules-wise they're overpriced garbage. A Barracuda is much, much better if you want a Tau flyer.

Drone sentry turrets are uncertain. The 5th edition Tau update was taken down until it's updated for 6th, and the release of the revised IA3 coming early next year may change them. Since they're not an extremely powerful unit that you'll be happy to have exploited even if they change in the future I'd wait until we see what the final rules are.

The only other things I can think of are Tetras or a Barracuda if you're feeling really generous. Tetras are an essential part of every Tau list and pretty much replace Pathfinders, while a Barracuda fills the important AA role in 6th (especially if his opponents often have flyers of their own).

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
