Hi brothers,

I know... I know....
I did what most of you will consider a sacrilege.
And I'm prepared for the shitstorm. ^^

But I did it anyway.
I built myself a model for the god emperor himself.

Please tell me what you think, be it positive, negative.

I will use him in my fluffy Adeptus Custodes army as a stand in for Lord Kaldor Draigo.

Thanks for looking.

With his personal lige guard:

With a regular marine for size comparison:

The emperor?
Well... At least he is always shown with a claw.

Speaking of Draigo... No.
I will have to ask for permission to use this model as a stand in.

Looks cool, although a lot like a Blood angel. I see no real reason why he couldn't be draigo, other than the claw. I suppose that you could pin a storm shield for gaming, but leave if off for display.

Well... Removing the drop above his head will probably remove the BA impression. ^^

If I do not get the permission to use it, I'd choose another opponent. I only get a game in, once in two weeks.

If someone does not allow me to use a single guy as a stand in, in an otherwise wsyiwyg army, he is probably not worth my time.
As harsh as this may sound.

I'd let you use him! He looks really good. It'd be a shame to do such a good job on him for someone to not let you use him.

If you are using him only as a proxy then I don't see why anyone would have a problem unless they are TFG. I'd rather play an army with cool conversions than one of the countless unpainted armies that I see even if it isn't wysiwyg.

Model looks great. Can't wait to see it painted.

This looks absolutely brilliant!

From the fluff pictures I've seen I would say you've captured him perfectly. Personally I would remove the blood drop but that's just me.

Can't wait to see some paint on him.

Maybe it's the distorted perspective in some pictures, but I can tell you that the only real blood drop is the one above his head, and the jury voted for removing it. ^^
The others are just oval gems deriving from high elf kits. And if I do not paint them red I don't think they will be confused with blood drops anymore.

I think it's bloody awesome and you've done an amazing job, though the first thought I had when seeing the first photo was that he was dancing or doing an impression of Muhammed Ali floating like a butterfly doing his little foot shuffles.

A little update:

Gave him a new claw I had lying around and properly based him.

Hope you like it.

This looks awesome! My only critique is take out the blood drop in the halo above his head. It makes it look like a blood angel like everyone has said. This is spectacular though!

im personally not so fond of that base but if it works for you thats all that matters... really do like the new claw though!

The new claw is spot on it gives him that heresy era feel and is a bit truer to the pictures I've seen of him.

In all the close up pictures the hair doesn't seem to fall right I would suggest bringing the hair over his neck a bit more as it seems to be flowing unnaturally (yes I know he's a man god and therefore unnatural but it still looks odd to me)

I would personally go for a simpler base too, so it doesn't distract from all the detail on him. I liked the thought of him floating through psychic energy and not walking as he seems to be doing now.

Again though I must stress that this is magnificent work and must have taken you a millennia to do.

P.S Merry Christmas
