"You are like a son and together we have all but conquered the galaxy. Now the time has come for me to retire to Terra. My work as a soldier is done and now passes to you for I have great tasks to perform in my earthly sanctum. I name you Warmaster and from this day forth all of my armies and generals shall take orders from you as if the words cam from mine own mouth. But words of caution I have for you for your brother Primarchs are strong of will, of though and of action. Do not seek to change them, but use their particular strengths well. You have much work to do for there are still many words to liberate, many peoples to rescue. My trust is with you. Hail Horus! Hail the Warmaster!"

The Emperor of Mankind

The final photos of Horus, Warmaster of the Imperium. There is a full write up of the miniature here as well as a ton more pictures and inspiration file.

I've tried a little photoshop trickery on the first photographs, let me know what you think. He's up in the gallery if you wish to vote.

Merry Christmas everyone!

It's refreshing to see a Horus model that doesn't look crap.

A+ sir.

Wow. That looks great. Is the mace from The Lord of the rings sauron model? Also what did you base the rest of it off of?

Probably the best scratch-built Horus I've ever seen. Not only is the conversion spot-on but the color is as well. It's as if you went into my mind, picked up some bits, and made/painted a model that looked exactly as I pictured Horus in the novels. Kudos!

Cheers guys. I'm a little overwhelmed by the response this miniature is getting thank you!

A note on the freehand;

I designed the miniature to have large expanses of plain armour and cape for some freehand work. Alas, time was a critical factor as the client needed this in the first week of January. Not much of an excuse, but the only one I have in the face of what is quite a glaring omission.

I've been messing around with my dark elves over the holidays (just for me) and I've picked up 2 more primarch commissions on the strength of this and Sanguinius.

Cheers again guys.

I really like the conversion. In particular I like the proportions - he looks proper and in scale with other 40k minis. Paint job is ace as well.

If I could offer some words of possible improvement - I always pictured a Primarch's armour to be be more detailed. The torso seems fine, but the shoulder pads and lower legs seem a little bare. Also, I would have done something more with his purple cloak instead of leaving it flat purple.

Overall, I really love the mini, and this is one of the better Primarch conversions/paint jobs I've seen. Keep it up!

Cheers for the feedback zoned. If you read my post (just above your message) it explains rather feebly why I did not detail as much as I would have liked.
