I'm playing a small game and I'm not used to something under 2000 points. I'm thinking about having my Iron Warriors have a melee squad. Something that can fit into a rhino and race across to smash face. I was wondering which marks would be recommended and why. I also was thinking of using a Dark Apostle but I'm not sure if its worth it. It takes up a slot in the squad pretty much so It would be a 9 man squad and the Apostle. I'm still fairly new to 40k and I haven't been able to play since November because of school. I've only played a few games since the new chaos codex came out. I'm sorry for the noobish question, but any help would be appreciated.

Plague Marines are equal in melee to Khorne Bezerkers while also having better shooting and durability.

if you want a melee unit they should be riding in a Land Raider not a Rhino. You can't assault out of a Rhino. And then you will want some Terminators not a troop unit.

Well, I don't want to use plague marines, berserker, thousand sons or noise marines. I was going to have a unit of cultists and them melee marines. I was going to have other ranged stuff like obliterators and havocs.

MoN would make them more survivable.

If you really want a melee unit and want to use CSM (good choice) then simply run CSM with the MOK, two melta guns, a power sword on the champ and toss in the khorne icon. It really helps since it allows you to re-roll charge range.
