EDIT: STOP COMMENTING ON HOW IT DOESN'T -LOOK- LIKE AN IRON WARRIORS LIST. THERE IS A FLUFF REASON FOR THE NURGLE-MARKED UNITS; IT'S NOT -ACTUALLY- NURGLE, BUT THAT'S A DISCUSSION FOR ANOTHER TIME. -PLEASE- FOCUS ON THE LIST!
So I started messing around with my list again, and here's what I've come up with:
Typhus
Warpsmith
-Plasma Pistol
-Gift of Mutation
-Aura of Dark Glory
-Mark of Nurgle
-VotLW
Chaos Cultists
-Autoguns x8
-Heavy Stubber
-Shotgun
Chaos Cultists
-Additional Cultists x10
-Plague Zombies
Helbrute
Plague Marines
-Additional Plague Marines (x2)
-Plasma Gun
-Plasma Gun
-Gift of Mutation
-Combi-plasma
-Power Axe
-VotLW
Rhino
-Dozer Blade
Plague Marines
-Additional Plague Marines (x2)
-Plasma Gun
-Plasma Gun
-Gift of Mutation
-Combi-plasma
-Power Axe
-VotLW
Rhino
-Dozer Blade
Havocs
-Additional Havocs x2
-CCW x8
-Flamer
-Flamer
-Meltagun
-Meltagun
-Gift of Mutation
-Combi-melta
-Powerfist
-VotLW
Rhino
-Dozer Blade
Havocs
-Additional Havocs x4
-Autocannon
-Autocannon
-Autocannon
-Autocannon
-VotLW
Obliterator
-Additional Obliterators x2
-Mark of Nurgle
-VotLW
Maulerfiend
-Lasher Tendrils
TOTAL: 1997
Now, Typhus either trudges across the board wiht the zombies, flanked by the Helbrute and Maulerfiend while the Warpsmith rides with the Havocs in the rhino to engage either armored targets or infantry that needs to be uprooted, the Plague Marines either splitting up to go objective-sitting or working in tandem to double-team power armored enemies, the regular cultists hiding out of sight and taking pot-shots at what they can while babysitting an objective while the autocannon Havoc squad provides cover fire. Now, I'm considering dropping the Autocannon Havocs and replacing them with a Vindicator and/or upgrading the Maulerfiend to a Forgefiend with ectoplasma cannons. Thoughts?

Well, unless you play at the 2000 pt level, you have four HS units which is illegal.
Small Cultist units are not worth it. They tend to run away as soon as the enemy has a chance to target them.

In 6th edition, you can basically 'unlock' a second force org chart at 2000 points and up. The small cultist squad is staying as-is for now; people tend to ignore them, and it's a dirt cheap unit that's actually won tournament games!
Yellowfever: Read the title. Fluff-wise, they're not actual plague marines, but a sort of "baby obliterator". I'm modelling them with guns and such grafted into their limbs.

Thats not particularly Iron Warrior's
I think a couple of meat shield squads of cultists led by a Warsmith and max out on Forgefiends, Mauler Fiends, Havocs and Obliterators
From all the fluff, there are very few Marked troops in an Iron Warriors force, the only thing I can remember them making use of is Berzerkers

Guys, the Plague Marines are only Plague Marines rules-wise; fluff-wise they're -completely- different, and I'll get into that some other time. Now, PLEASE stop derailing the thread, read what I said in the replies, and focus on discussion of the list and my proposed changes!

As mentioned before you have four heavy support units, so IMHO why not drop the maulerfiend and add in another helbrute instead.
Also I would like to see how these "baby obliterators" turn out.

Personally, I think that the Hellbrute and the Maulerfiends are pretty meh, but I understand they are cool models.
I don't see the point of the first havoc squad... What's their purpose? I don't see anything in them that couldn't be achieved by an extra plague marine squad.
Also I think that you should make all the cultist plague zombies and increase the size of the squad. (Mantic sells very nice cheap 28 mm zombies that you can easily modify to represent victims of the tecnovirus) There is no point in typhus if you don't spam Zombies.
So my suggestions are: Possibly drop the hellbrute or the maulerfiend, Drop the havocs and add zombies.
I'm eager to see your Tecnovirus Typhus conversion
P.s. You can be a little less ... "passionate" in explaining your fluff... IMHO you look a little rude.

Well, the Maulerfiend has been hit-and-miss, and the Helbrute's a nice cheap distraction that can cause a good bit of damage if people decide to ignore him! The Maulerfiend I'm considering swapping for a Forgefiend for sheer Dakka, and the first Havoc squad is to provide a cheaper alternative for Chosen special weapon spam. More flexible and cheaper than a Plague Marine squad, and while not as survivable as they lack FNP, they do gain the Warpsmith's Fearless (and not to mention his 5 power axe swings). They're an anti-tank/marine and anti-infantry swiss army knife. I want to like Chosen, but they just cost too much! The autocannon squad may be replaced with a Vindicator, just for more AP2 love.
Also, sorry for the aggression, but almost every post had been about the fact I have Plague Marines in an IW list without even considering alternatives...I just had to take the reigns and set the thread back on the right course!

More zombies. 10 zombies is low for typhus. I like the o'baby' blits. i would strongly rec a heldrake with balefire over mauler and helbrute. I know theres fluff but id drop that one unit of havocs without cannons for som reg csm with MoN Automatically Appended Next Post: Or reg csm with MoK if your goin more killy

Omg, I listened to someone about running my chosen squads 5 men with a missle launcher so they could be scoring havocs. Now I think I will run my havocs like your midrange specialist.

The zombie blob is actually 20 zombies, not 10; the mentioned 10 are the -additional- ones on top of the required minimum of 10 And I'd gladly get a Heldrake if you're willing to give me the $70 to buy one! But in all seriousness, I DO plan to get a Heldrake in the future.

Chosen are only scoring if you're using Abaddon the Overpriced. With the havocs, they'll be scoring at least in one mission (big guns never tire) and a good deterrent/killy unit in the others. I also may end up converting the Maulerfiend to a Defiler if running it as a Forgefiend doesn't work.

Not sure if the Maulerfiend will be the best for this list. You only have one, and it doesn't quite seem to synergise with the rest of your list. It will either be ignored if your opponent doesn't have any armored units, or it will be focused down easily enough because you don't have much other armored targets for him to shoot at.

well, what do you think of swapping the Maulerfiend for a Forgefiend (Either triple ectoplasma or ectoplasma on the head w/ hades autocannons) and replacing the autocannon Havocs with a Vindicator?
