									I am trying out a scout themed army, i have a few scout squads from my old marine army and wondered what people thought,

  I like the idea of using the bikes turbo-boost then deep-striking down the Storms to capture objectives, or sum similar strategy, I am just trying to work out wether i should keep the shotgun scouts n storms or add in more firepower, i use the librarian for powers on the divination table prescience n another, also i love having telion on th icarus always good, any suggestions fellow gamers?

									Not if i can help it it would be nice to have a heavy close combat unit in there but its hard to fit the theme of the list i think cluster mines would be better on the bike squad, maybe there is a way of making the bikes competitive in combat?? sorry the 2 scout squads are in the storms for contesting objectives.

									Just wondering why no heavy bolter? Scouts have hellfire rounds so wound on a 2+ and is also template. Also I dont see the point in the shotgun units. Being assault weapons I presume they're the units most likely to get into melee. In that case I'd just go for bolt pistols as they're pretty reasonable. If you want them riding in thee storms for a fire type base just go for boltguns.   Looks pretty interesting, have no idea how it would perform. Tanks may be an issue so could give the scouts on the storms melta bombs?  Also scout bikes cant really ever be competitive in CC IMO

									I'm also working on an updated scout list; I used a Captain instead of Librarian for theme reasons (Assault on Black Reach model with the cloak painted to match camo cloaks), and I'm using Land Speeders for anti-vehicle. The main thing I've found is if I go much above 750 points the premise goes out the window; you'll encounter too much armor and heavy infantry to keep from taking devastators or other units that don't fit the theme.
  
  Currently I'm looking at my Captain HQ, two full Bolter squads with Heavy Bolters, two Sniper squads (4 Snipers, 1 ML), and two LS Typhoons.
  
  I am considering a drop pod dread or stormtalon gunship just to shake things up, though that almost assuredly means jumping to 1000 points if I don't want to lose the second Speeder.

									i know what you mean about keeping it themed, it would be good if there was some kind of scout devastator ( limited to heavy bolters and missile launchers or something similar) but i still think devastators fit the theme as though scouts have infiltrated a planet, to give intel on the best spots for the devastators to blow up storage compounds ammunition bases etc before the full scale assault, i think 1500 is fine for a good scout army, if i was really bothered about the theme i would take the captain, and more scout bikers instead of devastators, but i am still looking for this list to be semi-competitive.
