Looking over what has changed for orks with 6th ed.

I noticed people didn't like trukk boys as much as they used to.

One thing I had seen people talk about was if the trukk goes down every takes a str 4 ap - hit as per the BRB.

But after reading the rule book. If a trukk ever goes down. Via a 6 from a pen or no more hull points... So ramshackle always happens. And on each of the rolls you take a str 3 ap - hit like we always have been...Or no damage on a 6.

Am i not understand the rules right or has this just not gotten around to everyone yet?

Correct, the Ramsahckle rule is used instead. For now it's Str3 for Orks in Trukks.

No, Ramshackle replaces the normal damage sequence.

the reason people dont like them isnt the explosion. Str3 can still put a dent in T4 6+ save boyz, but typically only lose 1-3.

The issue is you lose fearless unless they miraculously got there in 1 piece. And with overwatch, 12 boyz isnt much of a threat. I stopped because usually 2-3 of my 4 trukks in a 1k army die and theyre shot down before they get anywhere, with the 4th getting to its target. But, again, 12 boyz, whooptidoo.

Even if you cut the mobs in half but take BW instead (max of 3 since you have to take a heavy slot) thats 20boyz and usually BWs survive at least 1 turn of barrages. 20boyz is indeed an issue to deal with.

I dont know about anywone else, but I never liked putting boyz in trukks as there was never enough boyz to be useful. but nobz/meganobz in a trukk? Any day of the week.

The ramshackle rule for trukks only helps these units as they are very deadly in their smaller numbers and get to the fight much faster than with a battlewagon that is 3x more expensive to take.
