I'm sure this question has been asked before but what do people think is the better option.
A. A chaos space marine with bolt pistol close combat and mark of khorne OR
B. A basic khorne berzerker

The way I see it is you are paying 4pts/model for fearless WS5 and furious charge. You gain options like chain axe but lose options like flamer or melta. ...

On their own berzerkers are clearly better but in a squad you save enough points to add special weapons.

SQUAD 1 = 10 berzerkers
SQUAD 2 = 10 marines with MoK, icon of wrath and 2 melta guns....

Exactly the same in points and same profile but swap fearless and WS5 for 2 melta guns....

Help me out here guys...

You should probably invest in VotLW. For just 1 point, it goes a long way toward making up for fearless and WS5. Also keep in mind that CSM are naturally scoring, where berserkers require you to take a Khornate Lord (which is admittedly one of the better options, what with the Axe of Blind Fury)

Edit: For point of comparison, you should probably also look at Chosen marines with Mark of Slaanesh, Icon of Excess, and VotLW. Because furious charge no longer gives +1 initiative, this is about as close as you'll get.
