Reading the Remora entry in the IA:apocalyse had me thinking a bit.

How does the stats given there interact with the various updates and FAQS?

For example I assume it is safe to say the "vehicle update" that changed it's type and gave it hull points applies.

However, does the Tau FAQ override the stealth filed generator entry listed there? I would think so, as what is written there is pretty much the effect the codex has, and that was FAQed by wargear, not by unit.

On another note, does the Twin-Linked-Long-Barreled-Burst-Cannon get overwritten by the entry in the Tau forgewrold update, extracted from the forgeworld site itself?
The update states that these are updates to old units from the IA books after all, so is this considered on of these pdates, or are the guns unit-spesific and are different for each unit despite being technically the "same gun"?



On another note, when a flyer is on hover mode, does he get a jinx save like regular skimmers? and can he still fire as skyfire if you want him to?

The stealth field generator grants shrouded and stealth per the Tau FAQ.

The LBBC is the same stats, but longer range. It's listed in the IA books but I don't know which.

The flyer becomes a fast skimmer and gets Jinx, but loses the ability to fire skyfire.

I know the LBBC is listed in the IA book, it is listed in both IA:A under the remora and IA3 under the hammerhead, under different stats.
And in the Tau Forgeworld Update pdf it is listed YET AGAIN under the hammerhead, with the stats different again.

In Imperial Armour: Aeronatuica, there is an updated version of the Remora.

To the first question: its Wargear no longer includes the stealth generator, but it does have the Shrouded special rule.

For your query on the weapons: The latest stats for the long-barreled burst cannon are also included with it in the Aeronautica entry, so those would be the ones to use for the Remora.

Third question: Yes. Flyers in Hover mode are "...treated exactly as a Fast Skimmer." BRB, p 81, emphasis added, so I would say that the Remora would its Jink cover save, plus its Shrouded bonus. They may not, however Skyfire. From the BRB FAQ:

Too bad though, they would have been pretty good with the forgeworld update gun rather then the poor one in that book, this way its a waste of point. even less efficient then a sniper drone team.
