If i were to make a Knights of Blood army, could i choose between the BA codex and the CSM codex? since they're mentioned as renegade?

= first army WIP

You can paint your models however you like as long as their equipment is all WYSIWYG, so your choice is between a BA army or CSM army. Whether you paint them as "Knights of Blood", "Orange Crusaders", or just leave them bare plastic, the rules and WYSIWYG are all that matter.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Why not both?

You can probably design a core for your list that are models that are shared between both codexes, and make models that can be used as either Chaos of BA units.

Marines = Chaos Marines

Rhinos = Rhinos

Death Company = Bezerkers

Sanguinary priests = Chaos Icon bearers

You might need to have a few units that are Chaos specific or BA specific.

By running your list as both, you can mix up your list if you get bored, or play as your Knights of Blood when they were mostly Loyal or mostly Traitors.
you could even make up some campaign rules where your force starts as BA loyals, and then becomes CSM Traitors halfway through.
