Howdo.
So ive been looking for a large backpack for my long distance vets/tomorrow's war squads, anyway i couldn't find any... so i bashed out one like this.

Any feedback would be great, especially because the GS's still wet and i can pull it off if i need to.

Thanks for looking

Fingerprints man, if already hardened you gotta file that off.
The plastic bit meshed into the GS is sticking out in the top shot, and in the back.

Keep going, mate

As with what Augustine said, the fingerprints are super noticeable, what kind of tools are you using to sculpt the backpack?

If anything, I would suggest that you pick up a pack of clay-shapers, they will do wonders to smooth out during sculpting.

erm, my fingers...

Sorry, Im using the GW sculpting tool, i had a look at the sculpters, but i think that if i was good enough i could do that with the tool i have.

Or maybe not, do you use clay shapers? do you have any wips that show their capability?

plus would surgical gloves stop prints? Ive found spilling superglue does but thats a tat wasteful imo!

Thanks for the comments and help.

Reminds me of my plce bergen .All i'd do is adjust the hight of bergen , chop a lill bit off the top as it wouldn't go that high besides that man looking good just remember keep ya fingers wet and smooth out the finger marks but that will come with time and practice.

Great, thats what I was going for, and thanks for the tips.

Im glad for some feedback on the height, Im six-five and bergans have always seemed small to me and massive on others. - I even make op telic bags seem small!

I recall FW tips talked about using a brush to smooth out the green stuff as an alternative to clay shapers. Never tried it.

You can do anything with a full set of clay shapers. Look at almost any professional model - I guarantee that they were used at some point. I highly doubt even GW sculpts are made using their own tools

It's good! I would go bit smaller, but you're on the right track sticking packs/pouches to the green stuff.

Also, once you finish modeling the GS, take a knife/your tool what have you, dip it in water and use it to smooth off your finger prints.

Augustine, do you mean a paintbrush? Im not sure how that would work, or whether I have a brush to alocate to GS!
I totally agree with your comment about GW. plus I think they make them 3x larger so they're easier somehow.?.

More Dakka, smaller height-wise, or 'thinner'? Because looking back I do see how the pack is bigger than the dude's waste!
Regarding the knife, that makes a lot of sense, its just when im smoothing it, im holding another part, so its all a bit cat-and-mouse... should i maybe stick it with a pin and hold it from that?

Again thanks for all the comments.

Boy, Im glad I joined Dakka!
