Alright so I came across this beauty of a tank when I was going through the
40k wiki and thought that it would be cool if
IG players could field this tank. Now I know people have posted on this tank before, but i want to bring some fresh ideas to the table.
So here a my thoughts.
Heavy Support
Ragnarok Mark 2 175pts
BS 3 F14 S13 R11 HP4
Wargear
Ragnarok battle cannon S9
AP 2 Range 48" ordnance 1, large blast
Heavy Bolter sponsons
Front mounted Heavy Bolter
sreachlight
Special Rules
Unexpected benfits- dispite the fact that the Ragnarok was designed and pressed into service at an unheard of speed it has proven itself to be a very durable and reliable tank. It is also very hard to kill surviving or bouncing off shoots that would would have destroyed any other vehicle of its class. The Ragnarok Mark 2 gets a 5+ invulnerable save.
Imperial vehicle wieght class: heavy- The Ragnarok Mark 2 is classifed as heavy vehicle as such it can fire all its weapons at full Ballistic skill even if it has fired a ordnance weapon.
Veteran crew- Due to the fact that the Ragnarok Mark 2 is not yet widely distributived the few
IG regiments that do possess them have them crewed by veteran tank crews. This increases the Ragnarok Mark 2
BS by 1 to a total of
BS 4.

Ok so some of the ideas like the Unexpected benfits rule came from the fact that it reminded me of a KV 2 which when first introduced in WW2 it was a very hard to kill tank. The next one Imperial wieght class was just bringing back the Lumbering Behemoth rule and Vet crews because I like the idea of having vet tanks (an option which I wish the
IG could take now).
I realy like this tank and this is just an idea on how it would run.
P.S. Not sure on the base points with the 6 ed rule book and the fact that I feel some of the Leman Russ varients are over priced now (that just my thoughts though) I would like to read your thoughts on the matter.
