“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Sorry, they went on side-ways so I took them off to edit the pics. Anyway, here you go;

Wondering Why the Emperor Left
|
I like. I prefer black lining white to the brown wash alot of people do.
My only critique is lack of chapter markings.

Thanks. I'm still waiting for the world eaters transfer sheet from forge world. I'm afraid I'm not that good at free hand to do them myself.

How do you paint your white? I paint mine ceramite white - nuln oil - white scar, wich is the same as FW' s. Your white does look a bit thick though, but that happens quite fast with that color.

I do mine the same as you, spray skull white, nuln oil then layer with skull white (still have old paints)

I rather like the cartoonish, black-lined look. The white does look a tad thick and uneven (in texture, not in color quality), as mentioned, and the base rim is a bit streaky (one more coat would do the trick, easily), but I imagine it looks better at arm's length. I think a whole army done similarly would be quite striking.
