I have the feeling. After playing dow 2 last stand. To paint up a tau xv8 battle suit. The thing is should i. If i was to make him a display or in future use him as a hq or elite/body guard. Ive had the idea to start an amry but i need assault marines for my blood angles list. Im not sure, should i go with my feeling or get ready early for the next tourment.

Well, so your asking if you should expand on your BA or start Tau?

Usually, I would suggest finishing up one army most of the way if not entirely, then starting a new army (coming from a guy who is incredibly scatterbrained and has like 4-5 kinda done armies with 1 well done army) because it lends itself to burn out really fast. However, if you are willing to start a new army and not get burned out, Tau is a good pick at the moment. Things are making out to be a new Tau codex next year, or at least this edition, so stocking up on some models now is a good idea. Just basics, like Firewarriors and Battlesuits (things we know won't change, as they are what make the Tau). I wouldn't build them yet, unless you know what you are doing with them (as things may change).

Do you actually have a Tau codex on you? There are a lot of options for those suits, so I would look through and find a combo that would be most effective on the TT so if you do decide to use him in an army you don't have a ineffective combination.

If you are going to start the whole army right away it all depends on your budget.

If you just want the model so that you can build and paint one and have it for display purposes then go for it. I own several models just because I like them but don't have an army to field them with. My personal favorite being an old WHFB Lhamean vampire that I got when they stopped making those models. I bought it because I thought it looked awesome.

I have a Tau skyray - which was bought because I liked the model enough to want it in my display cabinet.
I have a necron Monolith that I bought simply because I wanted to light it up and put it in my cabinet.

I don't play either of those armies (or didn't when I did actually play 40k) - but not having the armies, nor wanting to start the armies did not stop me from getting and making them.

1 idea was to get the battle suit and paint it. and in the future use it. ive been looking on a pdf copy of the codex D: and have read through it.
What is a good combo. if i was to play a tau commander

I also had the idea modling the xv8 to look like its foot is ontop of a SM or something. and his gun pointing at the head. (SM head)
