Ok, so I'm looking to build a Biker Boss to lead my Speed Freeks army, but I'm having a little bit of trouble deciding what to actually use as the bike. Preferably, I'd like it to be suitably large and mean-looking, so I think a normal bike is probably not what I'm looking for. I know other people have used Black Reach Deffkoptas, Warbuggies and even Trukks to model the bike but I was wondering what you guys though turned out the best results, and, if you could show me any, that'd be great.
Also, what sort of torso would be best? I know the Black Reach Warboss is fairly popular, but are there others?

In my opinion, this is the perfect Warboss on bike, so you could aim for something like it?

The Forgeworld biker boss is certainly excellent, if you're rich.
A 'trike' (i.e. bike with two wheels at the back) is an easy way for a biker boss to clearly stand out from other bikers in the army, and not too hard to convert - a normal bike (possibly a looted marine or chaos one) front, and some sort of dual wheel chassis at the back.
Also consider the wartrakk model - the driver is terrible, and the whole kit is a bit elderly and underdetailed, but it gives you a nice big bike front which you can super-detail, and a tracked back which you can either convert or replace with wheels.
The biggest issue with any driver model choice is that as well as legs that can sit on the bike properly, he needs at least one arm that can clutch a handlebar.

Yeah, I do like the Forge World model but it's, although it is indeed expensive, it's more the fact that I'd like a converted model that will stand out, that no-one else will have. It is the centre piece of my army, after all.
I wasn't really convinced about the Wartrakk since, although I'm unsure about what the kit actually looks like, it seems to me like it's not shaped well for a bike, it seems to have too much length in it primarily.
But thanks for all you help guys More would be appreciated though, keep the ideas coming!

Pimping my own build here.
I used a kopta and trukk parts with some plastic card and a AOBR boss torso..
You can see the build progress in my gallery.

Certainly the wartrakk is longer than a normal bike, but then so is the Forgeworld one, and many biker boss conversions including some in this post. I have considered shortening a wartrakk, by leaving off the rear mudguards and somehow connecting the tracks closer to the front bike half (so the rider would be almost sitting between the tracks), but never worked out quite how to do it. I have a couple of spare wartrakks in bits, so should have another try.
guynamedFleck's suggestion of a hoverbike is also worth considering - it's a good way to make your biker boss stand out. I did something similar with my Wazdakka Gutsmek conversion using a looted and heavily modified landspeeder:

Wow, thanks for your replies guys, they're all really helpful! And those Warbosses all look awesome!
I'll have a look at matphat's gallery, a re-look of these pics and do some research of my own and try to come up with something.
More ideas appreciated though!

You could also use a ork trukk. remove the last set of wheels at the end (make it smaller) and place a warboss in the back of the trukk with a swinging powerclaw. Looks like the warboss got his own little trukk to take him to the enemy..
I once wanted to make a whole Nob biker army with small trukks/buggies. This one supposed to be an ambulance (Nob painboy Biker):
Hope it helps!

for the record, you can just use a regular boy or nob for the body. Since the bike you are building will DEFINATELY be far bigger than the usual bike models, size of the ork on it is pure fluff.
Originally i wanted to use my metal warboss with big choppa since its metal...gotta use it...but that damn loincloth he had prevented me from it.
This is mine:
The body of it was a normal bike, i just cut the back wheel off and used Trukk wheels instead (widening the front slightly to let the wheel fit) and used a nob chest/head. This thing is still roughly 2x the size of a normal biker, so i dont care about the "lack of warboss bulk" it has lol.
I still need to base this thing, but because of its odd shape i cant use a standard base and im still searching for a good material to make one out of (cardboard SUCKS).

These are some awesome conversions! I'd also look at some of the WWII model companies and see if they have anything you like and could convert over

Thanks for all the posts and ideas, guys! Wow, that looks pretty awesome. I don't suppose you have any idea on what he used for the wheels? (I don't want to ask now it's been and gone). Since I sorta need some more wheels for my Trukk -> Battlewagon conversion, I'm thinking of buying a Trukk kit and using the wheels for that conversion and any spare ones for the Biker Boss. It also gives me tons of stuff to use on the Biker Boss, or elsewhere (terrain, defence lines, looted wagons etc). Do you reckon this'd be a worthwhile purchase?

A trukk kit is a good purchase if you'll use all the leftover bits. Buyinh it just for the wheels is pretty expensive though - you might want to check out some bits sites first.

Buying Trukk kits for scratch building is never a bad idea. I'd dare say every part of the trukk is easily used elsewhere. One of the best kits to buy for this purpose.

Thanks for the continuing ideas and posts guys (particularly like that pirate ork, skyfi ) I think I'll be buying a Trukk kit, probably cheap of ebay if I can, for use for other conversions too. I want an ADL in my army, so I imagine that the spare bits will be very useful for that.
